Will this new system work with the GTM 2.5" down pipes?

Rusty 03-14-2013 07:06 PM

This is great that all of these TT set-ups are coming out. But I have a problem with the space behind the front bumper. Having a 34 row Z1 oil cooler, and RC brake ducts and hoses. Where do I find the space to run the hoses?

It will work with both 2.5" and 3" downpipes.

Well, here are a couple pictures to give you an idea where you can mount it. As you can see, there is room between the intercoolers and the condenser to mount the oil cooler. Otherwise, you could mount it in front of the intercooler instead. The is enough room between the vertical center support brace and the condenser to run the lines as well. Last, but not least, you can always get creative and do any number of things.

For example, we're doing a build right now using our GTM 70mm Competition Radiator with internal heat exchanger. It is being setup so that the engine oil runs through the heat exchanger inside the cold side of the radiator. Keep in mind, this may not be feasible for other aftermarket radiators on the market since their internal heat exchanger may not be rated for the higher pressure put out by the engine since internal heat exchangers are typically designed for transmission fluid which is run at much lower pressure. We designed our radiator's internal heat exchanger to handle the higher pressure for precisely this application.

Thanks again Mike... :tiphat:

Some guy from San Diego wanted a really clean, elegant solution for his cooling system and engine oil cooling. So, that's what we came up with. ;)

Awsome news but still wish I atleast had an idea that option was coming when I first called about purchasing my tt kit... Now Iam curious to see how much cheaper this option will be... Congrats to the future FI owners who will be purchasing this kit...

This kit has been public knowledge for well over 6 months, can't really get much more advance notice than that.

Unlike most I don't dwell on the forum every day. Again had I known of this when I called gtm for fi options I would have waited. I will say I'am happy so far with my purchase from gtm.

cosmogirl: What you got and what I got are proven winners. Quality parts, perfectly mated.

We're all expecting the new kit to meet and exceed expectations, but my bird is in the hand. ;)

I'm going to have to buy this kit this year on my off season. No doubt.

FireDan50 03-16-2013 08:00 PM

Any update/guesses on release date?

sojirovskensi 03-17-2013 12:13 PM

does this kit require to drop the engine to install the kit?
