Manual ? HKS EVC 6 COLOR BOOST CONTROLLER
I just bought a 2010 370z with a GTM twin turbo and a HKS EVC 6 color new generation 4 button boost controller. I do not have a manual and I have looked for hours on the internet to find one and can't. I can only find the HKS EVC IV older style black & White. Does anyone have a link or a pdf file of the english manual ?

HKS EV6 manual
I ended up getting the PDF manual from HKS of Europe. The American distributor didn't read my email and sent me a canned response back. I have the english pdf file now. Not sure if I'm allowed to attach it. If anyone wants a copy, let me know.

Definitely the cost effective way to do it!

This car was VQStryker's. He is on this forum if you look for his profile. He lists all the parts that were installed and some that were not. He sold the car and I bought it from a couple a kids that didn't know one iota about the car and only had it 6 months. I am not kidding. I was looking for a long time for a 350z modified, but rarely saw one that I liked locally until the 370z appeared which I would rather have anyway. I'm trying to learn a lot about the car and have emailed the original owner without much success in getting any information. GTM emailed me the TT kit build instructions and have advised not to set the boost more that 10, which is what the current HKS is set at.

8-9.5 PSI is plenty, and that's at least 430-450 whp on a conservative tune. I'm currently running on an MBC, but would like to switch to EBC when switching to external wastegates. How's the HKS? It is so pricey, but I guess that's the price to pay for quality. I'd never skimp on it.

You are correct. The power that this thing has is amazing and will just spin tires easily. Not sure I would want more power without better traction. I had a 3000gt vr4 before this one and am not use to spinning wheels. The original ower mustang dyno'd the car at 433whp and loosing traction at the same time @ 9.5psi. They estimated 450 whp if the traction would have held. I just received a pdf of the HKS Evo 6 and looked over it real quickly and there are a lot of functions to control the way you want to boost. It also has a scramble function that allow you to preprogram a set boost number above you max boost. You program the number and the amount of seconds to run at that boost level. Once programmed, there is one button you press to get that extra boost amount/time whenever you need it. I'm a newby to alot of the technical stuff. I had my VR4 for 13 years completly stock with 176000 miles on it. Sold it in 30 minutes on craigslist ! I have Lot's to explore and understand about 370z because it's in a whole different category than the VR4.

I personally see no need for the boost scramble on the stock block, but it's good to have for the future.
So I'm assuming it is running on GTM's tune, which is what I have. Do you plan to get a new tune? If so, update the throttle table with an aggressive (keep stock table for one of the maps for safer driving), and change the cooling fan settings so it kick in sooner. BTW, I bought the TIAL wastegates from VQStryker It has the 8 PSI springs, but I'm going to switch them out to 5 PSI springs to be safe. Sitting in the garage at the moment...

I too have the HKS EVC 6 boost controller and love it. It's difficult to learn at first but once ur familiar with it you'll be coasting thru the settings. My settings at 12 lbs with 13 lbs being my over boost cut-off. Running strong 6k miles. These motors r strong and with a good install and tune it should hold no problem

I'm planning on getting a tune. The car was tuned last and R&H Garage in Seattle and I do not know anything regarding how they tuned the car. I called them, but their dyno computer crashed since then and lost the information. Currently there is something going on with the car. It does not happen every day but every other day. I'll be just driving along and the car will throw a code and start crackling (knocking) like I'm using bad gas. (Service engine soon light comes on) If I shut the car off for a few minutes and turn it back on, it will run fine again. If I don't shut it off, the car will continue to run in the knocking mode. Not sure if this is the computer changing something. The ARF runs between 14.2-14.6 continually. Running on 92 octane. I had a friend read the codes and there was a misfire code. when the issue begins there is no warning audible or performance wise. It's like a switch turning on. Anyone have an idea ?

I have the EVC-S controller. It's complicated and didn't go beyond 7 lbs of my waste gate boost, no matter what the setting. I put a Hallman manual controller in there and it immediately went quicker at the strip, and with NO perceived loss of low end spool.
These computer versions are WAY overrated. That's my experience. Coop

The HKS on my car definitely works according to my regular boost gauge at 10psi. If I turn the HKS off, the boost returns to the spring pressure of the internal waste gate.

I wrote that wrong. It would go beyond waste gate pressure, but NOT beyond 7 lbs over WG spring pressure.
I could never get past 14lbs boost with the HKS. I ran quick at 17 lbs boost with the manual, with ability to go more. I tried every setting. This glitch doesn't apply to probably anyone but me, but it was real. Another reason they canned the short-lived EVC-S? Coop
