Seeing you have HFC, why did you pick those over down pipes? Also, what are your goals for this kit, reliable street power, light tracking? Do you have a HP

This is what i'm looking for out of my 7AT, with the new gtm tt kit.

Just street fun, and power around 400-450 whp & 380-400 wtq.

By what has done with the high 300/low 400 TQ boosted cars it seems a good solid transmission cooler & tune can hold up fine for awhile with street driving. Keeping in mind that the top couple gears will be off limits for boosted runs.

Cool deal man thanks, i was thinking trans cooler, tune, and the VB upgrade. I just didn't know if this would be enough for the 16g gtm with 9-ish psi and 2.5" FI catback.

I'm probably going to get a conservative tune because I'm looking for reliable street power and I don't track at all. 400-450 hp /380-400 tq sounds good to me as well.

You should be fine. 481hp and 427wtq and even after I tore the system off the car it still ran like a champ. I had zero slips, clunks or anything. As Dreamer said 6th and 7th are off limits. I only pushed it from first through 3rd most of the times. Hell I even dumped it into 3rd from 6th on the highway for a quick boost.
I guess I had a Frankenstein transmission or something because I had ZERO problems with mine and had 2 1/2" pipes and no transmission cooler.

Default Need your opinion...

In your opinion which system is a better match for the 7AT?

TT or SC ?

Let's say with a VB Upgrade, Trans Cooler and a proper tune.

Some of my thoughts were a SC because of its lower torque would help the Transmission last longer or the TT because when you hit the gas the lag allows your tranny to downshift where the SC would not ??

I believe from the failures we have seen, in the upper gears, it has been the TQ that is more responsible for the damage than the HP. Mainly because the TQ is what is going to punish the transmission early on and fast while HP gradually increases throughout the powerband. Saying the SC lower TQ will help in the long run probably is not ideal as both are going to put extra strain on the transmission.

Now onto the specific TT or SC, since you threw in the VB upgrade either will be great. At that point it will boil down to what your goals are & expectations for the kit(s). Some of your key differences are, SC is a bit more instant response while the TT has that small spool (.5 of a second or less), the SC kits have a bit more linear progression through the powerband where a TT is very upfront.

Dreamer which system runs cooler and is less finicky from your experience and or feedback?

Also Is it best to manually shift when wanting to boost so that you can make sure you only boost in 1-4th and stay away from 5-6-7 ?

What are your boost & shifting practices?

I know sometimes it seems like us AT7 owners really want to make this transmission work with a FI setup but I really do enjoy this Auto more than even my previous Manual tranny twin turbo 996.

I should preface some of my posts with I actually don't own the 7AT, I have had the chance to stumble upon certain reading material which I have shared & driven a built block TT 370z with 7AT.
Running cooler between a SC/TT will be the SC just because you are not trapping heat around the block to turn the turbine to create power, but remember a TT (or T) is going to be more efficient.

When I drove the TT I always did manual mode just because it was easier for me to correlate the boost v rpm v gear and make sure I was driving right, but that is just my brain which has driven manual only transmission (unless it is a rental car). I think without a VB upgrade staying out of boost in the top few gears is wise just because of the strain it will put on them and cause early failure. Plus redline in 4th is easily in the mid 100 speed so that is probably pushing what most need.

Bingo. That is the advantage of the Twin Turbo on an automatic. When you hit the gas in the higher gears, the turbos aren't producing much extra torque and the transmission will downshift to a lower gear. The beauty of that is not only can the lower gears handle more torque, but it puts the engine in the power band for a nice wallop of acceleration.

The Supercharger, on the other hand requires a more attentive driver using manual mode since rolling on the throttle in higher gears will put more torque through the gear before the transmission downshifts in normal mode.

That said, our Valve Body upgrade will really help out with that since the transmission will downshift more readily.

@theDreamer I wrote an article a while back regarding forced induction and automatic transmissions if you would like to add that info into your first post, here is the link: http://www.gtmotorsports.com/Technic...ansmission.pdf
