It could just be that first time you drive hard and shift 4-5 while still on the throttle and it pops, it really boils down to the extra TQ it seems. I have seen the TT guys with auto with more HP do ok but you have to watch out for the TQ and those upper gears.

yea i guess it comes down to every tranny being slightly different. same thing with stock blocks too. some guys have been DD'ing on 12psi of boost for 50k miles with zero issues and other guys have blown blocks NA lol

i get the slight throttle blip when shifting 4-5 in my 7AT.

Yeah, and Shumby had his SC back when I got mine so that was early development of Uprev (2010), so no tranny adjustments were out yet I believe, those changes are fairly recent.

I would love to get a write up from someone who has messed with the Uprev transmission tuning for the 7AT. Not what they changed, but more so what the adjustments could do. Changing line pressure settings = XYZ results sort of right up.

I honestly haven't opened up my UpRev in a while, so things could be further-updated now. But basically this thread gives the basics and some earlier opinion about things for NA cars: http://www.the370z.com/tuning/50754-...uning-7at.html

The only time I spoke with an UpRev technician about this (when I was bumping my line pressure table by ~5-10% to account for NA power mods), their advice was to datalog in Cipher to watch for the transmission slipping while in gear, and up the line pressures just enough to eliminate any logged slip. I imagine the same basic process applies for FI, you'll just need to bump those pressures a good deal more to get rid of the slip than NA guys do.

I don't recall what the exact name of the Cipher parameter to watch was, but IIRC it was basically logging the complete drive ratio from engine to wheels based on RPM and wheel speed sensors.

i havemy own uprev cord and all that good stuff but i havent ever actually datalogged my car. thought about it when at the drag strip for kicks but dont want the laptop bouncing around during the run. need a passenger to keep a grip on it.

You can set a laptop to keep running even with the lid closed, and then try to secure it under the seat when doing a pass.

id have to check. its a 17.3" screen so its quite large lol

local strip allows passengers when running over 11 or 12 seconds cant remember either way i can have a passenger on my runs lol just typically i go alone though so i dont have to worry about someone gettign bored and wanting to leave or something lol

maybe i'll run some data logs next time i go and see what happens.

Are you'll can order the necessary components to beef the transmission internals from GTM or from Exedy then have a transmission shop that is experience conduct the installation.

this was my original thought since my dad's friend was just ridiuclous with transmissions sadly he passed away. i would probably have the same $ in labor to put the parts as i would just getting it from GTM done.

well i take that back. i'd never see it if i ordered it to be done by GTM. they would just keep my money lol

That is the route I may take.

I have also been thinking about upgrading to the drive shaft shop axles but there is no one here that have done it and post a review plus the fact that they are expensive. By the way congrats on the build cycy :tiphat:

i been considering giving mine some boost soon-thinking more down the line of the GTM twin SC kit....i do not want to open exhaust yet & wanted to try and keep quiet.
currently stock 11' touring/AT just over 275WHP & 243TQ....quickest pass in qtr. 13.13@104.89,,,not to shabby for open diff 3.359:1 ratio.
