the fact that they are possibly the only option jsut says a lot for how sad the part market for the 370 is. 6 model years and this is where we are at?

FI does have upgrades coming very soon from what i undersatnd. also knowing the quality of their products i know they wont bring a product to market prior to it being ready. look at their TT kit. took awhile but my is it pretty and the numbers theyve put down says a lot on its own.

we do need more AT upgrades. if there were more options and not a $7k tranny swap then maybe i would have given someone money for a TT kit by now. the sole reason i never went with boost is because for the power i wanted the AT wouldnt handle it without a lot of exrtra money.

i got quoted at one point for a TT kit, tranny upgrades, oil/at coolers, labor for my Z and it was $20k. yea i'll just wait a bit and grab a GTR lol

Im not saying anything about FI quality its just that as of today their trans upgrades are as real as the MHI kit.

oh i know i just like promoting FI is all. they have been good to me and do have a quality product.

also im excited for the AAM TT kit :yum:

i just wish the upgraded tranny wasnt $7k. so much to add to a 10K turbo kit and labor.

nooooooooooooo the manual in the 370 sucks lol

i made the correct purchase. sadly the people making mods and upgrades havent responded in the last 6 years to give a few choices of upgrades for the 7AT.

probably manual fanboys trolling the AT guys :stirthepot:

:bowrofl:

Find junkyard GT-R with fully working transmission.
Spend 7K fitting it to the VQ37 and onto the Z (they make adapter plates to make the trans RWD only now).
Win

completely wrong. the gtr has a trans axle it would need to be mounted at the back of the car and no rwd only parts for it exist, the bell housing pattern is a completely different one, and the only gtr rwd swaps use the 370z manual trans mission with a bell housing adapter because the strongest transmission Nissan has ever made is the 370z 6 speed manual.

You could always 6 speed swap it megan370z did it and it sounds pretty simple so far as manual swaps go.

The question is pairing it to the VQ, which honestly if GM cars can change transmission to almost anything I am sure the VQ can be paired with any trans with some work.

nope and just get a quiafe dogbox and an air shifter, they make a bolt on setup for only $16k and I promise that is cheaper than the gtr swap. No transmission hits as hard as an air shifted dogbox.

oooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrr.................

i just go get a GT-R.

problem solved.

Thats a new one, I never would have thought someone would really just take the front driveshaft off their gtr and call it a rwd swap. Regardless in the Z it is unpossible. you would have to cut up the bottom of the car to fit it, and redesign the rear subframe and axles just to mount it, then you would only be missing all the electronics.

I recommend swapping in a 4l80e at least that might be doable, i think gm got the shift times under an hour towards the end of production.
