R&D baby, it takes time for quality. Don't get your panties in a bunch cuz a companies not moving fast enough for your liking. Besides, Leroy nailed it, the market for the awd g37 isn't bigger than the 370z market and FI is putting in serious hours making sure this thing is gonna put the Z in beast mode without blowing up an engine. I'd rather wait for quality than rush into something and get ******. The bottom line about GTM is that they didn't do right by their customers and screwed a lot of people over in the end.

I'm pretty sure Tony already said FI has plans for the G in this thread...

FI isn't a big operation. They are handling their business perfectly and moving at a scale and pace they are comfortable with. They are moving vertically in select markets and platforms which is exactly what they should be doing.

Just ask GTM what happens when you move too fast horizontally and stretch beyond your resources. GTM didn't go under because they were crooked. They went under because they did the exact opposite of what FI is doing. Doing wrong by their customers was a byproduct.

I dealt with GTM in the past for over 2 years. If Sam never existed, it is highly probable that GTM is still around with reputable products. To be honest, some of their products are pretty damn good. Sam screwed up everything badly and drove GTM down to the abyss just because of his severe greed and terribly poor customer relation skill. What a shame. I was very lucky not to deposit any money into their TT group buy.

Well, that was the past. Now, I am ready to talk to Tony and see him in the next few weeks about a complete 500whp TT street set up.

I'm not sure what size you would need but I'm sure someone that makes them like ptp would be able to get you one that fits well, just give them a call or shoot em an email. I'll probably get a pair, they have benefits such as lowering the temps of the engine bay and the radiant temps around the turbo, thus lowering the chance of a failure, while retaining the maximum heat for the greatest amount of expansive gas and a more responsive boost.
You can read up on them here.

What sadness me is the fact if something happens to my turbo kit I would

A: Have someone custom make a part. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

B: Trash the kit and purchase another one. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

GTM kit is nice and still has super low miles, but unless it's a turbo issue i'm **** out of luck.

BTW anyone know where I can get new GTM manifolds? Just in case mine crack.

Ask warpeacelove, he seems to be selling GTM parts, mainly SC but he might be able to point you in the right direction. Otherwise start a thread in wanted, these kinds of questions are intended for that part of the forum.

I see turbo blankets used more on the single turbo builds than with twins.

Is there more benefit one way or the other? Besides boost ranges, I always thought a turbo was a turbo, big or small. But I'm no Yoda.

I don't have an good educated answer for you other than my observation on reading all the boosted threads and all the folks I know with twins don't have them. I would surmise that because of the size of the single turbo and as you stated above there are more benefits to single turbo.

I still believe that bagged is better than not bagged. However; if you aren't concerned about heat issues than the benefits are minimal.

They will benefit from them, but top/bottom mount setups will benefit more. There's more inherent enthalpy loss in a setup that places the turbo farther away as opposed to one that keeps them tucked up close.

I'm more concerned about direct line of site melting issues from the insane heat generated from the hot side. On a factory NA car there is minimal shielding because they didn't design for turbo levels of heat. I didn't bag for any performance reasons. Of course I went full retard on heat management all over my build.
