I am assuming that you use the ECUTEK ? I am about to switch over to ECUTEK myself.

Hey hotrodz, launch control on ecuteks pretty bad ***. The longer u hold it the more boost it makes off the line. Flat foot shifting can be done at slow speeds as long as ur gas pedal is steady. Pushing the clutch in fast seems to work the best. And its pretty damm hard to reprogram the human computer bc i always forget about it when driving hard.

LMAO...I don't want to go slow and it hard enough to remember to VDC off. I think it should be the other way around...press VDC on!

The money you spend on this will be worth ever dime and more in smiles and thrills! I would contact Sebastian at SpecialtyZ and he can give you a full assessment on the software package and cost. And thanks for the compliment, your ride is pretty hot as well!

I had the same questions regarding the operation of the EcuTek Launch and Traction Control functions and operability ...
Did a quick Search and found some You Tube videos demonstrating just how this system works ... works EZ and it is user friendly for the Launch settings.
Don't know how the Slip control will set since it hijacks the Oil Temp gauge.
I've got a custom gauge set up and the OEM Oil Temp/Voltage/Clock cluster is history...working on a solution utilizing a rotary switch which should even be a better way to do it.

Waiting to have my car up and running hopefully within the next few weeks so I can try it out and attest to it personally!

I need to find some 100% ethanol so I can get back to E85 faster if I had to use 93. Lol

I had to use some 91 to get home from Cali on Sunday and it knocked it down to 52% and there was a quarter of a tank left. I parked in the garage and have driven her until today after filling up with e85. She is at 73% now so game on. I'm headed to Vegas for the weekend and I'm hoping to get her close to e85 as possible and keep her there.

Go buy some grain alcohol from a liqueur store. Get your Z drunk. :rofl2:

SwissCheese 09-25-2015 08:20 PM

So do you guys need to switch tunes depending on the ethanol rating, or does the computer just detect it and compensate on its own?

For the flexfuel tune computer does the work you just need to adjust the boost. And there's race tune you can only use e75 or above.

No different map settings but we have to adjust our boost control to match the percentage of ethonol. So 0 to 20 is no more than 8 or 9psi and it increases from there.

I use Redline because I've used it for years with good results, and they help me out :) Any good group IV/v will work best.

I think it was 7ish before the accusump. You'll never get the cooler completely drained, so it's a little trial and error. Fill it, run it a bit, check levels from there.

Cool cool. I don't have my service manual yet. I've used eneos 5w30 when i was N/A and the oil report was good, probably gonna finish the box I bought and see what the report says. Picked me up a k&n filter and probably gonna change it tomorrow!

Yup, mine takes 7ish as djtodd stated. I use Mobile1 0-40.

Apparently I have 5w40 in the car now so I have to either get me some 5w40 or drain the oil cooler. And I don't wanna drain the oil cooler...

Don't worry about the oil left in the oil cooler. Just change the oil as you normally would. It won't hurt anything. Changing weights is not a big deal. You never get all the oil out anyway when you do an oil change. Don't stress over it.

Stick with what we were using (Fast Intentions and SZ).
30 weight oils are not recommend for performance applications.

So u recommend the 5W40 Seb? Any particular brand?

I run Rotella Synthetic. Bob the Oil Guy loves it and every one of my post turbo oil analysis have been better than any of my NA ones when I used different oil.

We use 0w-40 or 5w-40 Motul, Liqui Moly, Mobil 1 on stock long blocks.

Actually I still used a quality synthetic, which was actually quiet a bit more expensive than Rotella, it's just my boosted VQ loves the T6!

UPDATE-

Plugging away as always! We finished a lot over the summer. cycy89 got his car back after 2 years. We set the 1/4 mile E.T. world record at 10.91 & stock block world record at 677 RWH, so I'd say this car was a sucesss. We built and shipped out a handful of kits and completed 3 more installs. This has been (by far) our best year in TT sales & support. Thank you all for the support and loyalty. Let's get this list updated!
