If I could get away with running only E85, I would do it. There are not enough places to get it for me to make the switch. And road trips are out of the question.

Full flex fuel! With the new Race Rom II from ECUTek, we are now able to bridge the gap between the 370z and GT-R.

Just finished up GeuaxTigers1 2015 NISMO. We made 499/429 on 91 & with little effort made 648/560 on E78 @ 13 psi. I have no doubt we could of turned it up to match Cy's 677, but the torque was already at 560. Cy can enjoy his stock block record for a while. :) From there we tuned on E65, E55, E45, E35 & E25. This thing is a beast!

What upgrades/additional parts are needed to run flexfuel?

Elmo370z 09-16-2015 02:57 PM

Wish you all were located in fl

Senor, gauge, tune. On top of the fuel system.

So it's pretty easy and inexpensive tog o Flexfuel if you're already doing the kit.

Hotrodz 09-16-2015 05:26 PM

If you are doing straight e85 otherwise you will need a fuel system including injectors.

brucelidat 09-16-2015 06:12 PM

You're upgrading the fuel system anyway for the TT kit, so it's not much more.

Hotrodz 09-16-2015 06:32 PM

Correct...I thought the original question was around if you were already e85 so it would be as Cy stated if not then you have to do what I did and swap out the fuel system. Sorry for the confusion!

I know but just saying.... :bowrofl:

paying to not deal with the pumps varying from 70-80%~?

FPenvy 09-17-2015 02:48 PM

sidenote: I've seen people on other forums get a 55gal drum of just regular gas for $250ish or just an empty drum then fill that up at a e85 station to use at their house as a solution to lack of e85 stations around them.

Yea and if you don't have any E85 available its better than nothing however that's a lot of money especially for how fast this stuff burns. Also, IIRC Seb said anything over E70 or so is ok to run full boost (at least on my dads GT-R)

cycy89 09-17-2015 02:50 PM

It's less than a dollar 50 per gal here near my house and is fairly consistent.

This is my plan I just haven't got around to it. Not sure how I am gonna unload a full drum from my lifted truck without getting a small army of guys lol

E85 at the station by my house is $2.20

93 premium is $2.79

Hotrodz 09-17-2015 04:01 PM

I am looking at $250 a drum delivered and that is about twice the cost at the pump. I will keep the barrel and get my own once or twice a month.

I think drums of e98 go for around 300$ a pop, but only thing is you have to drive up to NJ to get it

djtodd 09-17-2015 04:32 PM

I'm on my way up there then!

look up Omar Padrino on FB. My buddy just picked up a few drums of e98 off of him over labor day weekend. 10:1 mix of 93 octane for a perfect blend. Its something I plan on doing myself whenever I find the time to get up to jersey

Elmo370z 09-17-2015 05:27 PM

Here its like 1.80

e85 is race gas on crack...I picked up my Nismo from Seb at SpecialtyZ this afternoon and I was not prepared as I did not bring enough underwear. I am blown away with the performance increase with only 20 to 52% ethanol. I'm just going say it straight up...if you are boosted and you don't get EcuTeK you aren't very smart. The features are unbelievable. The launch control along with the Race Rom traction control will make you drag goons go wild. I literally applauded and cheered when Seb demonstrated those two features together. The RR traction control is amazing and with the extra power and responsiveness it's a must if you want to go faster and be safe when planting your foot exiting a turn. I can't wait to hook up with our small group tomorrow. GauxTiger is about to experience nirvana...

Sebastian, you are the friken king of tune...thanks so much for your hard work and attention to detail. And Tony, I'm still blow away with the kit and all the precision products that set your twin turbo that far, far apart from all others.:owned:

So is the traction control strictly a software upgrade, or is there additional equipment needed?

Hotrodz 09-20-2015 01:08 AM

I is part of the Ecutek tuning package.

Do you have to have any extra piggy back pc or anything? How do you turn launch control on? I'm interested in ECUTec. I heard good thing but not sure if I wan to spend the $$ yet. I know Jwick is getting it so I will ask him when he gets it.

Very cool project car you have there.

The operation of setting the traction control is as simple as toggling the cruise control lever up and down. That is the beauty of EcuTeK, it is simple to use. The money you spend on this will be worth ever dime and more in smiles and thrills! I would contact Sebastian at SpecialtyZ and he can give you a full assessment on the software package and cost. And thanks for the compliment, your ride is pretty hot as well!

Even tho the auto doesn't really have a "launch control" , with the ability of adjusting the sensitivity of the VDC, I can catch some traction at the same time not having the power cut off like the factory VDC does. I just need stickier tires so I don't have to worry about traction anymore lol.

With the new 6 puck clutch and flywheel, launch control and traction control...I can't tell you how much of a difference there is from a stop. I haven't tried the flat foot shifting yet, I'm a little intimidated as it will take reprogramming the human computer to not lift when engaging the clutch pedal. I can truly say I haven't driven a car that is more fun to drive!
