My dilemma: (I really want a TT for my car, but then, who wouldn't :yum:)

1) I have the tools and ability to install this, but I probably really need a lift and bigger garage.

2) Time is an issue, besides the fact I DD the Z, at least for now.

3) Its a little more challenging to crawl under, over and around cars.

4) The time to trailer/ship/drive the car to Tony to have them install the kit, the exhaust, then tune the car. (Yeah, I know "first world problems" :p)

5) I can't find the price of the kit on the FI website. I know it's there, I found it before.

6) I probably should have the clutch, pressure plate & flywheel (and CSC) changed at the same time....

I vaguely remember what the cost of the kit was, and I have an approximate idea of the cost of the exhaust. The only thing(s) missing are the cost of install, the tune and the length of time the car will be there. Tony, if you got a spare few minutes... :tiphat:

Important details:
2012 base, 6MT 31k miles (at this moment)

jwick 08-27-2015 09:49 AM

$20k installed with tune/clutch upgrade. $25k if you get carried away with the options or the 'since I was in there upgrades'

TerribleONE 08-27-2015 09:54 AM

Pick up the phone and give F.I. a call! Tony or Kevin will be happy to go over all your options with you.

Akrobatik 08-27-2015 12:33 PM

20k Here. kit/install/tune.

Mine is being installed tuesday.

Carbon_z 08-27-2015 02:04 PM

Agreed with what TerribleONE said :)

The great part about Fast Intentions, they have an ala carte menu of additional upgrades/options!

Hotrodz 08-27-2015 02:55 PM

It's funny that everyone that wants the kit and has pretty much made up their mined ask this same question. I think what they are asking us is....20k is a lot of money and is it really worth it!!! And the survey says...hell yeah! If you are not putting yourself in a financial bind, drop the cash and don't look back. Boost on....

Yup. I'd be running it if it had been two years earlier to market

tonythetiger 08-27-2015 04:05 PM

I found the prices, it's not on the website, it's here on the forum.... at the beginning of the thread... now I kinda feel stupid....:owned:

The prices everyone has quoted is in the ballpark of what I expected to spend, considering I'm keeping the car for a long time. The challenge is all the other details; getting the car to Cali (best way, w/the least chance of damage), do I get a cheap junker to drive till the Z is ready to be picked up... and I intend to drive it home..:driving: and the host of little bitty details that drive me nuts. :eekdance:

Thanks to jwick, TerribleONE, Hotrodz and the others for their input and the awesome threads they put up about their cars, it makes the decision easy to go boosted. I hate to bother Tony with this, considering I'm probably 6 months out from pulling the trigger on it and knowing he's busy up to his eyeballs. I'm sure he wouldn't mind, it's my 'I hate to ask silly questions' issue..

jwick 08-27-2015 06:25 PM

Don't feel bad it's really in their best interest to answer all your questions and make you comfortable with your decision.

I asked Sasha a ton of questions. Of course I did pony up as the first to try fitting the kit on a G so just wanted to be as sure as possible it was going to fit.

That's insane! I sure hope the motor is built for that amount of money. I can't imagine investing that kind of money into a $25,000 car and then something going south.

For all those wondering about prices, there's a link on FI's homepage that leads to more information about their 370Z turbo kits. Here's a link to the pricing page (which has also been posted earlier in this thread):

I also attached the image.

Who paid $25k for their car. Mine, given its a G but the appropriately equipped Z sport package is the same, cost over $40k

Bulletz4break 08-27-2015 10:17 PM

I paid $24k for my 2011 touring with 6k miles.

TerribleONE 08-27-2015 11:10 PM

25k + 20k = 45k

Blowing the doors off a 200k supercar....

PRICELESS :driving:

Pretty sure they are talking about used J. I'm at $44k for mine, $50k if you include tax. After another $25k on the kit, I'm at used GTR prices damnitt.

Im rebuilding the engine next year. Going to keep it in the 500-550whp range till then. Its not my daily so if something goes i have a backup.

You are welcome and do jwick and Terrible have advised, call Tony or Kevin and talk to them. Being six months gives you time to plan and ask questions. I think Tony called me more than I called him before I committed to going with his kit. I was one of the lucky few that got my money back from that other company in Cali. I would advise anyone that is getting boosted to have another second car to use for a number of reasons, but mostly if something goes wrong or I need more upgrades then I still have transportation. The way I look at it is if I can't afford to be without my Z I shouldn't be spending the money on boosting it. You need to be in the mind set that it's not essential to your daily needs. Just one old guys perspective!!! Good luck and keep asking question there is tons of help here...

Age is simply mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter. :rofl2:

I'm not that young either, hence the comment about it's not so easy to get over, under and around cars any more. :p

Yes used I would never pay over 40K for a Z. I'd be buying a C7 for 50k. Which is what I have been debating on doing right now. The Z has no power at all.

brucelidat 08-28-2015 10:50 PM

Where are you going to get a new c7 for 50k? Spec'ed out decently it's at least close to 60k. After TTL, it'll be around 66k.

I looked at 2 for 55-57k yesterday

I am going to install the 2015 Nismo bumper assemblies in my Z soon. The airflow will be greatly increased from the lousy base bumper. Base bumper airflow really sucks when you have to install the TT intercooler and the 34 row oil cooler.

Not really man, I actually liked the base airflow on the intercooler. You take out all the black plastic and it's gorgeous. This was my old Z:

Personally I think the 15 Nismo is going to restrict more bc I don't want to rip anything off of it. She's too purty.

Not for me . Taking out the black plastic will fully expose the intercooler. For cooling purpose, its is good but also attracts unwanted attentions. I am trying to avoid this the best that I can. 2015+ Nismo bumper works quite well for me.
