Great video, I'm never lending Chris my Z. hahaha

V1H 06-11-2015 03:45 PM

Tony, this comes as a repeat question, but will this marvel of a TT kit fit a RHD Z here in the U.K.? I'm so anxious to getting a healthy dose of F.I. boost

I've been reading every post from page 1 to 110 for the past 10 days and am just blown away by the community praises and quality of craftsmanship that I know it's gonna be either this or none.

PLEASE SAY IT FITS :eekdance:

Hotrodz 06-11-2015 03:55 PM

Sorry man, the kit does not fit RHD Zs...I don't believe there are any plan soon to engineer one either as they are working hard at completing their automatic transmission package and the one for Gs.

V1H 06-11-2015 03:59 PM

awwww :shakes head:
Fair enough, thx anyway

I can always settle for the 2nd best thing.. Stillen SC :ugh2:

The... Like 8th best thing, lol

You should make a custom midmount single turbo

V1H 06-11-2015 04:06 PM

Hehe.. wouldn't that rock! :driving:
But it wouldn't be an option for me. I need/want a turn key kit that I can install DIY and only rely on a garage for tuning.

V1H 06-12-2015 08:12 AM

Only yesterday there's been an announcement over a RHD version of the AAM TT kit. It might just be it :excited:

Edit - never mind. RHD:ugh2:

I noticed on some FI TT vids online, the BOV is really loud. The cameras are mounted low in front of the car, though. So I am wondering, is the BOV really loud and noticeable or is it just the placement of the camera in those vids? Seems like a loud BOV would draw attention to the car you might not want.

I'm sure the exhaust, in my case the external waste gate, draws way more attention than BOV. and why is that a bad thing? Lol

brucelidat 06-14-2015 01:19 PM

I know it will sound different, but I don't want anything that yells hey I am illegally boosted to cops.

djtodd 06-14-2015 02:23 PM

It's not that loud in person. The camera on the front bumper just amplifies it

I agree with cycy. The external wastegates charging pass 2500 rpms are quite loud not so much the BOVs but damn it sounds fantastic and seeing people faces when you pass them by is priceless.

I personally drove over and had a long talk with Tony at his facility in Simi Valley on 6/5. Tony had been more than courteous and took over 2 hours showing me the TT set up details. So, I purchased the TT kit and it will be ready in about 8 weeks to 12 weeks (at the latest) according to Tony.

V1H 06-16-2015 05:12 AM

Congrats conmam! You must be super thrilled getting such a great TT kit. Hope you enjoy it!

How do you mean? Is retro-fitting a Turbo illegal in the U.S.?

brucelidat 06-16-2015 09:40 AM

In some states like California.

Yeah. Those states suck. Thankfully I don't live in one:tup:

cycy89 06-16-2015 11:49 AM

In texas, police pull you over to admire your car.

Hotrodz 06-16-2015 12:43 PM

In AZ I get pulled over because my window tint is too dark!

LOL, Too funny. I was thinking about you today sweating at ZdayZ because of the humidity. It is 100 hear today with humidity off the chart...

I cheat as much as I can on the tint and stay away from cites who write tickets for it. :)

Back on topic. Duece Turbo's......

Rusty 06-16-2015 07:45 PM

Man! I'm glad I live where I do! :D

Heads up! As least California got sunshine and beach babes if no clearance for turbo'ing.. either way not bad. Here U.K. got rain and pot holes with some road (as opposed to road with some holes) :ugh2:
(Sorry for derailing off topic)

brucelidat 06-17-2015 11:31 AM

I have a question on cooling. How is the stock kit's cooling when you're at the track? Did you guys have to do additional cooling mods (other than oil cooler) to keep it under control?

djtodd 06-17-2015 11:32 AM

You'll want to upgrade the radiator as well. I highly recommend the csf triple pass. You can get it from F.I.

brucelidat 06-17-2015 11:33 AM

Just the radiator and you're good?

djtodd 06-17-2015 11:35 AM

Yep. Rad and oil cooler. I have no thermal issues on 95+ degree, 90% humidity days. I would recommend some sort of vented hood though. With those three things, I literally never get over 225 at all now.

brucelidat 06-17-2015 11:37 AM

I am really not a fan of the vented hoods. How important is that? I don't track a lot but I don't want to not be able to go when my friends go because of heat concerns.

djtodd 06-17-2015 11:38 AM

*****Fast Intentions "Twin Turbo Kit" is here*****

If you don't track a lot I wouldn't sweat it then. I kept my oem hood for the same reason. I can swap it back on in 10 minutes by myself

Got mine CSF Triple Pass today $495 shipped. Not too bad though. I currently have the really big GTM radiator installed. Superior cooling but it will not clear the oil cooler position that I will have to modify once the FI intercooler is installed.

I don't believe there is any cooling compromise when I switch to this CSF Triple Pass... since I am still and will be using factory cooling fans running at maximum duty cycles.

?

Thank you. Just stay modest and a sleeper at 500 whp. That will almost be fast enough to keep up with my cousin's Nismo GTR.

visconti 06-19-2015 07:15 PM

Can't believe how fast this kit spools ;)

Yeah, I am pretty exited, I am in the process of removing the engine out of the car. I don't have a lift so I have to use the engine slingers and carefully slide the engine out from the front of the car. Lot of time and work but it's fun.

visconti 06-23-2015 09:17 PM

Just finished tuning a GT28 Kit on ecutek flexfuel... Car drives like stock.. I can't believe how fast these turbos come on!!!

Yes, please share more details...

...In other news, we finished tuning our first FI G37-TT Coupe today. The dyno rang in at 556WHP / 484WTQ @ 12.8 (peak) PSI on 93 octane.

12.8 peak is pretty high.

All depends on the turbo used and conservativeness of the tune.

Plenty of us have been running around pushing more boost than that. :driving:
