Yes. We were running this exact same rim and tire. These things are tiny, but they work. It's a Mickey Thompson E.T. Street Radial. I cant remember the size right now, but they are on 16" rims. Nothing "fat rear meat" about them, but they hook.

-Tony

How did you manage fitting the 16" wheels ? ... > methinks me hooking problem j'est might be solved !!!
What is your Final Drive Ratio ...?

accomplishments without fully produced feature length documentaries complete with soundtrack are no accomplishment at all.

Right...next time and maybe I will join in the fun too!

F.I. Inc. 03-16-2015 08:39 PM

Update,

Saturday was an eventful day to say the least! A success considering the DA (Density Altitude), 100* weather, track conditions and lack of cooperation from the Z in the early going. In the end, we gathered a lot of solid data and a few world records along the way.

As of tomorrow, we are removing the 7AT and improving on our modifications. The Excedy clutches are a major improvement over stock but we are not quite there! More clutches will do the trick. This turnaround should be relatively short and we plan to be back at the track in no time.

As for the rest of the car: chassis, rear end, engine, axles, turbo system, diff bushings, exhaust system, and flex plate...they all rose to the occasion and performed flawlessly.

In closing, the transmission with the current upgrades would perform great on the street but that's not good enough for us! Perfect or nothing less.

For now here is video of Saturdays testing for your viewing pleasure:

To all that participated, thank you for your commitment and support throughout. You all made it possible!

370Z JT 03-16-2015 09:37 PM

That was awesome to watch! I noticed the driver shifted in manual mode. Do you think the times will be faster if he left it in D?

reldas 03-16-2015 09:43 PM

Spooler 03-16-2015 09:50 PM

If you can get the tranny in check that thing will be a monster. Then, time to add more boost.

blueranger 03-16-2015 11:46 PM

One question for you Tony... Is there a reason why the driver used the shifter vs..the paddles?

I take my 7AT to the drags and always find the paddles more responsive.

Agreed, the only reason I would guess is he was doing a lil brake boost. It allowed his hands to do both to get off the line. Great Job, as the Team should be Proud with this new energy driven for the auto guys! :bowrofl:

Felix 808 03-17-2015 12:37 AM
