Yeah I miss my 350 single turbo and Tial BOV. That thing would pop off LOUD! But a good loud..not some cartoony loud HKS crap.

How about the intake sound? In the video it sounds like it was about to suck your fenders right up your intakes..lol..

faceglide 12-04-2013 01:12 PM

Yeah...he's still got 2 psi to go.

Being that the bovs are outside the engine bay. They should be a lot more enjoyable with the Windows down vs inside the semi sealed engine bay.

Yes I do I can upload it later. Also see my other video on my youtube channel running a different canyon with no music. For some reason when I uploaded the video it seems like the music is louder then when I was editing it in Imovie

I got a great update from Seb at SpecialtyZ this morning. He said:

"So far we've installed the Whiteline Diff Bushings, Eibach rear sway bar, clutch and flywheel, new rear main seal, driver side exhaust manifold, turbo is mounted on that side, fuel pump, fuel injectors, spark plugs, OEM intake manifold, TBs swapped, water lines deleted on the TBs, Boost controller and wideband gauge are mounted." :happydance:

He is hoping to get more done and the engine back in place next week. If you want to see picture of the progress, check it out on their Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/pages/Specialty-Z. It's just awesome knowing its going to happen anytime...boooooost!:p

More to the update. We are working on your 3" Down Pipes and recirculated wastegates as well. Your car and nklear's should be on the dyno back to back.

Thanks, Tony

Tony, did you find a spot for a tow hook? It doesn't have to be factory, as long as there's a tow hook somewhere in the front.

I am sure they will come up with something for you!

Edit: Put another 130 miles on the car today. Running VERY strong @ 8PSI.

Not exactly but I would guess somewhere in the 480WHP range maybe a bit more in the cold weather. I cant imagine this thing at 10PSI on 100 octane.

Little flyby video for you guys. Also includes a EVO X, EVO VIII, and a WRX.

Some 2nd-3rd gear pulls. I will make some more soon at night so the gauges are easier to see and I will also angle the GoPro down a bit more.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwRbE0WaGls

Edit: The car was making just under 8PSI on these runs with the warmer temperatures. Tony, is it dyno time yet? :excited:

mfeinst 12-11-2013 09:12 PM

Yes, I'd like two snails, please. Hold the slow.

I thought the PSS's were changed out for MT street/drag radials on 18" rims! :icon14:

Sorry for the confusion! I was posting from my phone. That is correct, the car went 11.43 on a 265 MT ET street radial. It could probably go 11.7-11.9 on these tires with good prep. These tires hook a lot better than I was expecting.

Have you tried the re-11s...if so how do they compare?

Not yet, but from what I hear they are a great tire. I will most likely try something different on my next set.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport - Great Street Tire, Okay on the track

Bridgestone RE-11 - Great Track Tire, Okay on the street

They will each handle just fine, just that you will be able to see their strengths/weakness' at each one.

PSS' are great for street, but getting them on a track at temps, they get a bit greasy.

RE11's are great for the track, superb grip, but on a street you really don't get them into their comfort zone.

**A Subjective assessment of course.

Justin@CJM 12-13-2013 09:34 PM

I am a big fan of the Toyo Tq's. Great tire for Higher HP cars. They are not the best for cornering and are sketchy when switching lanes fast. In a straight line these tires hooooook. I believe these tires are capable of a 10sec track time with a 570-600whp Z. If you want a more all around tire the R888's are great. Charles (Phunk) has been running the Tq's on his daily driven 370z and we have not noticed any wear after 5K miles or so. This is even with a drag day and a bunch of burnouts on the street.

My experience with the Re-11's was very short. I sold them within a month on my 350. If your looking for traction these tires are not at the top of my list.

The only down fall to the Tq's are they only come in a 18" wheels size and a 315 width. The R888's have a more verity in sizes.
