Finally got a break from the rain... that V8 style torque definitely gets hairy on the factory 245 tires lololol

You put that TT kit on a non-sport?

It's a Touring, I wanted the interior upgrade and the Navi... and the color. Sport upgrades would of been nice, but not a deal breaker, stuff I can do later. New tires are sitting in the corner already.

I also do not like the Viscous LSD... replaced it on my 350. I have a Quaife in the back on my 370Z.

So it's official... I have joined the dark side! Tony offered me all the cookies I could eat! The biggest baddest FI kit is underway! Stay tuned for updates in about 2 months... Sadly I won't be making tx2k this year but it's worth it for the power levels we are going after... These are unprecedented power levels! I can't go into much detail now but there will be updates forth coming. I will end with this teaser in our power levels we will be playing with some big HP GTRs...

Do you have any brake upgrades? As a base non- sport owner myself I'm curious to hear how the brakes hold up with your new found power.

Not well. I feel like I'm underpowered from a brake stand point and I have the BBK.

You staying with the VVL heads or going with the HR head?

They are stock. If it wasn't a street car I would rethink that, but I feel they work just fine for what the car is. Hell I run our S2000 on stock Honda brakes still.... lol

I can't say this enough... People underestimate the VVEL system and our heads... Our heads are more efficient than GTR heads and HR heads.... I will be staying with my VVEL. ;)

I totally agree with the efficiency. It is quite good. However, the very big downside is that the VVEL heads are not rebuildable since the VVEL ladders are not to be disassembled per Nissan and therefore if your intake valves clearance are out of specs and/or if you need to replace any of the intake valves components, you are out of luck since Nissan do not sell them separately from the heads. In this case, you must buy the entire head assembly, which is very expensive. Also, the VVEL actuator can be quite costly too.

For normally aspirated motors, it probably can squeeze more HP than any other non-VVEL heads, but really for forced induction, I would very much prefer either the VQ35HR or the VR38DETT heads since the difference is not worth the cost for cylinder head replacement. Also, if you wish to rev higher than 8000 rpm on a built motor, the VVEL system is a definite limiting factor. Just my opinion, that's all.

I have two fully functioning spare VVEL actuators sitting here... been using them for some R&D. They cost me $150 each.

What's wrong with the VVEL system and higher rpm?

I have physically seen VVEL hit 9k on a daily basis... BBR has one that hits 8500 and a 1000+whp

I was going to say... it's actually a very simple servo, quite easy to control actually. If the valvetrain itself can't handle the high revs... that's a different issue not necessarily related to the VVEL control system.

Can't help but drive the car, even in the rain, lol.
