It's been forever ... :icon14: ...

So many delays and miscues with the SC'r upgrade that I went with a new and highly qualified shop [and] good God [gulp] Twin Turbos.

In essence, I've had to start all over from scratch ... aaarrrggghhh ... a lot of wasted time and expense because of the former shop, but that's all water under the bridge now.

Went to 'visit my car in Maryland yesterday ... went over some final tweaks with them.
The tech is working feverishly :-) and the tuner will be doing the tune when he gets back from SEMA.
Going Flex Fuel and EcuTek...should be NICE
The motor break in and tune should take about 2 more weeks.

The only variable now left to test is the integrity of the motor since the rebuild.
That was done by IPP [Kyle Puckett] and should be good !!!

lol ... yep ... a mere 220 miles away.
Haven't driven it in 2 years now - with the exception of 1 day about a year and a half ago - and that was just long enough to blow the motor with the upgraded Stillen SC'r impeller and 9 lb pulley.
??? Anybody out there considering doing that ??? DON'T !!!

Right now the car is in pieces - with the dash out for gauges - the wheels off for brakes - the nose off for anodizing the I/C.
But everything else is done. Putting it back together should be an :ohsnap1: considering all the work sweat and tears already put in to it.

EcuTek has a ton of options and safety features.
Using the EcuTek to control the boost.
I am removing the RaceLogic in favor of the EcuTek Traction Control and Launch as well.
Hijacking the Cruise Control for the Launch and adding a Rotary Selector Switch for the Slip Control.
I have line locks for the standing burnout and a switch/relay set up to drop out the ABS and ABLS.
But gotta wait till spring to see what it will do in the 1/4.

Will also have to upgrade my Avatar once it's done since the car has shed it's OEM Aero Kit.

Can't tell you exactly how, but the tuner has said he can do it through EcuTek and he has done it before.
He's done a ton of GTR's and [well, almost] a ton of Z's.

I contacted EcuTek support to find out just how and they pretty much told me to contact the tuner...so I got off that merry-go-round.
Evidently EcuTek can be utilized to monitor boost and electronically control the wastegate.
On the down side - I might be giving up the flexibility of selecting my own boost settings though - don't know how much of a good or bad thing that is.
Don't plan on racing it until the spring - so I've got a little time to get to know the car again.

I should say here that the car isn't being done by FI ...
The car had already transported to another shop before FI released their TT kit WR video.
As Agent 86 Maxwell Smart would have said --- " Missed it by --- That Much --- "

Just couldn't bring myself around to extricating the car from another shop [once again] to ride the rails across the county.

Don't want to get too far off topic here ... but will find out more when the tuner gets back from SEMA.

Yeah hes right, i dont run an electronic boost controller anymore. Its all done through my tune. I have four different map settings. Eco, eco sport, race, and killer. Well thats what i named them atleast. I was told by visconti that i dont even need my boost controller anymore so i took it out. It is utilizing the solenoid from my boost controller still. I never really messed with my boost controller anyways and infact i dont even think i knew how to use it lol.

That is awesome! Gotta luv those map names

I was thinking: Really, OK then, Bring it, Goodbye!

I cannot wait to get mine installed and hit the strip :stirthepot: none of my friends that I run with even know I am getting the FI Twin treatment ;)

We use the CPC to control a solenoid to regulate boost pressure on this car and many other platforms (even using stock ECU solutions like ECUTek).

Yes this works on the 370Z. The only downside right now is it's a VERY slow circuit -- only 11hz. For good response you want to be around 24-32hz on the typical solenoid.

What does this translate in to ??? Don't like that word SLOW at all...
no.no.no...:shakes head:...no.no.no

I'm basically a SC'r guy just getting his feet wet with Turbos...

Congrats to #50!! :woot:

It means the solenoid and therefore wastegate will react 1/2 to 1/3 as fast as a one controlled by say...an eBoost2. Easy decision in my book.

NICE! They made 50 kits?! Did a bunch of confetti come down, a bunch of girls in bikinis come running out with a big sign that says "you won a free turbo kit!!" Or does that happen at 100? :roflpuke2:
