Really interested in what fuel pressure system you used

jpritche 02-08-2013 10:09 AM

Any plans to use a Boost Controller?

Zat_Zuma 02-08-2013 10:12 AM

Call me Toni as I had the same problem with fuel pressure dropping at high RPM and boost levels. Have a few suggestions you can check and a few recomendations you can use to solve them.

Update,

Just finished dyno testing the full 2.5" set up. The fuel pressure is dropping in the high end and we are going to sort that out. Here is what we have so far.

91 Octane:
469 RWH
382 FT LBS of Torque
Roughly 7-7.5 PSI

The boost is fluctuating between 6-7.5 LBS. We are currently running it on strictly wastegate spring pressure with no boost controller.

The timing is conservative because we only have 91 Octane and do not want to detonate, obviously!

Currently we are strapping the car down and testing it with stock cats and the full 2.5" CBE. Not expecting big numbers in this form and we are strictly doing it out of curiousity and to apease the community.

After this is complete we will take the full exhaust off and slap on the full 3". At that point it will get tested again tonight on 91 octane. Tomorrow once we can troubleshoot the slight fueling issue, we will turn the boot up on VP Motorsport 103 octane.

Here is what we can take away from this so far. At this PSI level we are not even close to utilizing the potential of what the GTX 28-67 turbo can do! The innercooler setup is proving to be extremely effiecent. After 13 runs we in fact made more power every time. The innercooler is not heat soaking and the IAT's (Inlet Air Temps.) are holding steady in the low 80's. The boost is ramping in fast and hard. The curve is very usable in the low end and mid range.

I will keep you posted shortly with another update.

Thanks, Tony

Update,

Heading back to the dyno after lunch to test the "full 3" exhaust". From there we are loading up in our enclosed trailer and getting set for tomorrow.

Stay tuned...

Thanks, Tony
