Back to the blue smoke issue... what's was the deal guys...?

Dunno what the "blue smoke" is, sounds isolated to me. I had some smoke when I first drove it home, believe it was just burnoff from all the shiny new exhaust bits....not a single puff of smoke since. All I can say, but everything is goddamn perfect. Not a leak, squeak, sound, hesitation, smoke or anything to note since install. All the power is still there and engine is doing just fine. Torque and everything, its been six months, not a single issue. |
Dan/Tony. When do you expect FI version of the front crash bar to be available for purchase ? And how much $$$ about ? Thanks

Today is my six month anniversary of picking my up car up from SpecialtyZ. All I can say is the car has and is performing flawlessly after about 10K. My plans are to head back to SZ this fall and get the Fast 500 fuel system installed, another tune including one for race fuel and possibly a CSF radiator.
Also, for those of you that live where temps reach a 100* plus and oil temps are a concern, I can vouch for FI 34 row oil cooler. Over the last few weeks here in Kingman temps have been topping out at about 105* and earlier this week I was in Phoenix where the temps were 118*. Well, the oil temps according to the oem gauge range from 215* to 235* with the AC on high. Phoenix in rush hour traffic is brutal this time of year. Even at 118* at speed on the Fwy the temps would fall to 225 or so. Kinda of wild after letting the car cool down (not) for several hours the oil temps would still be over 180* at start up . I would definitely be getting a vented hood if I live in Phoenix. |

Yup, on most hot days when I get home from work I will raise the hood so that the engine can cool more efficiently and it is amazing how much heat is trapped under the hood.

I too can vouch for the FI 34 row and the CSF radiator setup. It has hit 100 degrees a few times in the area, mostly mid 90s, the car refuses to go past 210degrees in traffic, spirited driving and short, stop-and-go pulls(0-100).
Let's put it this way. My car has lower temperatures than it did STOCK, brand new, right of the show room floor. My car is a 2012, so the guys at FI can work with that joke of an oil cooler(the Nissan one) system and its goofy pipes. Temperature is not an issue. I do have a vented hood coming in this next week, but it is mere aesthetics...I know for a fact that my car does not really need it. If I tracked it constantly, it still wouldn't be much of an issue. Happpy 4th gents! Stay safe out there! |

Aerojacket/Fly1 SS hood. I like the idea of vents at the apex of the hood, an almost OEM look and local small business. Did a full NISMO conversion a month back, I should post pics, but life has been too fun lately haha!
Have new wheels, tires coming in as well. Still shopping for a healthy, used longblock for building up. Looking to push 13ish psi by end of summer or once i get that block to seb's doorstep...lol. |
I can report to you now that the CSF Triple pass is showing some amazing gains on my N/A Z. Temps were in the 225-230* range just driving around town, never going above 5K rpm. Now with the triple pass radiator temps stay around 180-195*. This is in 105* Arizona ambient temps. Also when coasting down a hill or any kind of letting off the gas the temps drops very quickly. As an added bonus the A/C is ridiculously cold now...45* to be exact lol
by the way, this further proves the OEM 12+ oil cooler is completely useless. Oil temps have not dropped at all. You would think a 30*F reduction in coolant temp would affect it but nope. FI oil cooler goes on Monday! |
