Yeah, four months and eight months are kinda different.
Edited for my reading comprehension- Sam said it's been done for four months, but then says they're going to start on body and aero soon. Maybe the powertrain was finished four months ago, and the rest of the build has taken another four?

My suggestion is give GTM a call about what you want, build time, etc.
If it is a straight built motor, ship in, build, ship out. They can probably meet the deadline you set if it is realistic. It is the builds that get to GTM that keep having things added to them which push dates back.

He was waiting for the Fujimura bumper and wheels. I'm assuming GTM is going to optimize the airflow to the coolers. OP lives in PHX, gets hot there and running that much power when it's 115 outside needs special considerations.

That's why I ask! Every damn time there seems to be a lot of other BS work done besides the build itself. Nothing on GTM's part at all. But everyone tells only a fraction of the story. I'm so sick of this crap here!

Yeah, if its a full motor/paint/body/interior job with stuff coming in from Japan, 8 months isn't unheard of. That makes more sense than 8 months for a motor build.

It sounds to me like they are in need of more help at gtm to keep up with supply and demand. Maybe spohn should apply for a position there since he seems to be their pr person on this forum... lol

The only thing coming from Japan was the bumper which wasnt order but a few days b4 the first of June. The car was not waiting on wheels from gtm as I picked them up on my own thru ravspec. We are running into issues in keeping the car cool and having to rearrange oil coolers etc for optimum air flow. It has only been waiting on aero for 6 weeks. No one said the motor has taken 8 mos to build just since the engine build it has been 8 mos and i still dont have my car .The actual motor build didnt start until the end of dec and the rest of the time from what I am told has been to try and get the temp down on the motor do to the extreme heat from where I live. I am apparently the first person who wants to drive there car in the desert with this magnitude of a build I appreciate the fact that GTM didn not throw the car together and just send it to me only for me to have problems when it gets hot. I respect that but it is also frustrating with the amount of time not to mention money I have I to what should have just been a GTR. I was never complaining just agreeing and laughing about the original 30 day time frame when ss firehawk pointed it out the other day. I hope that clears some of this up.

That's a lot clearer. Thanks. Sure, it could be done faster. If I were going for a build that big, I'd take "done well" over "done fast" any day of the week. If you're doing something not many people have done, there's going to be hiccups. The guys at GTM will get it sorted out.

I was at GTM today to drop off my work wheels and check on the car. I was able to inspect the bumper and the quality of the fujimura bumper was unbelievable. The car is now in one of the bays on a lift so should be able to tear into it soon I hope. I saw that the motor was built and in and saw the fuel return system piece on the motor also. All interior gauges looked good although I didn't get a chance to see them light up in person. After talking with Sam today we are going to add front n rear sway bars and change out the stance coil overs to kw v3. Also ditching the analog racelogic control and putting the digital one in where the 3 blank switches are in the center consol. Once the bumper is installed we will be able to move the oil coolers off to the side and repipe everything. Hopefully that solves the hear issue we are runnijg into. Then get the gtr intake on and some paint and done. Hopefully will have something to update in a few weeks

Finally getting some good actions going on with the Z. The kw suspension is on. The giant Intercooler has been changed to the split intercoolers to allow more space and air thru to the radiator. The 2 34 row oil coolers have been moved completely off to the sides to maximize airflow that way also. The lower piping has been done and now working on the piping from the gtr manifold. Once there done its off to polish to make it pretty. Should have something shiny to share soon. I will share the mock up photo

You got that right Rod! It took me three years of being boosted to get the kinks worked out. By that time a lot of money and time could have been saved.
