I kind of agree, but at the same time, power will always trump all... The weight of a full blown turbo kit isn't going to add 500 pounds vs the 200-300 extra horsepower you'll get.

At speeds close to 200MPH your bigger issues SHOULD be aerodynamics, BRAKES, TIRES, and gearing... Does anyone know if the theoretical top speed of the 370Z is even 200MPH? I would assume the gearing wouldn't allow it because of how short the gears are...

Google provided me with this:
http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...tml#post247002

Again, that's just based on math... I doubt the car will go that fast though...

God bless the crazies in Germany that want to take their 370Z TO 200MPH... I wouldn't feel safe, nothing in the car is designed to go that fast

yea i agree the weight added vs HP gained isnt a big variable.

also i found a video on youtube one day of a guy on a track i think in germany in a stock 370 with the limiter off hitting 179. id search for it but youtube is blocked at work :shakes head:

i made it from my work just north of pittsburgh to just outside DC in under 4 hours (map quest says its a 5hr 45min trip) before lol i avg'd about 120-ish for a good part of the PA turnpike. i love radar detectors :tiphat:

fellas just chip in and help me get a set of tires rated for those speeds. Ill top that bitch out. I have a built tranny. Nothing says i cant top my z out if the engine holds together. Im scared the tires I have will blow to bits. Volk wheels, built tranny, full supension, lowered, 540 wheel hp. Ill take it to the top. Tires are my weekest link. I even have racing harnesses and a weld in roll bar. I....Aint.....Scared lolol. The z id a beast with turbos.

I found AM Performance oil pan. The baffle plate design looks pretty killer and awesome but costs 1 grand. Worst than that, these AM performance people NEVER replied to my emails at all. Their telephone number in Scotts Valley, Ca is disconnected as well ......

AM Perf. is out of business. There are a few of their oil pans floating around. But nobody is giving them up. :( One person in another thread said that they MIGHT make a couple of them. But that dead ended. I'm using a oil pan spacer right now. Might go to the Greddy later.

Got to love the Pa. turnpike. The only place that posted your speeding fine along side of the road. If you're going this fast, this is your fine.

Can you post videos??? How does the car feel at 165MPH?!?!?!

Honestly, you need a larger, or 2 larger oil coolers, and I'd recommend a different front bumper, maybe the Amuse, Stillen or Nismo to allow more airflow. The stock bumper blocks A LOT of the surface area of the cooling apparatuses.

The first time I topped it out my A$$hole puckered up pretty good. With all the crazies on the road that just pull out into your lane you have to be looking about 1/4 mile in front of you all the time.

The car felt real good I got Whiteline Sways and I that helped a lot. But I Can hit A7 north from the A6 and not take my foot off the gas through any of the curves on the Autobahn. I want to get the NISMO boddy stiffeners and the KW V3 as well to make it that much better but 130-145 doesn't feel bad at all. If/when I was stateside it was actually way to comfortable. I did Boise, Idaho to Las Vegas down I95 in about 7.5 hours. I only got 1 $400 dollar ticket but I didn't go to jail.

I've hit the speed limiter twice here in Mexico. There's only one road that I've dared do this though (it's a concrete road, most of it very straight)
The car has plenty of cabin noise at low speeds as it is. This is augmented exponentially once you hit the limiter. It sounds kind of scary actually.

I found that the trick to hitting 160 Mph on that road is not to shift to sixth too early (i found myself running out of road too early if i did this)
I could only hold the top speed for about 10-12 seconds before i have to slow down.

Now, with that said... the roads here are TERRIBLE for the Z. That is one of the very few bump-free roads here. When i'm on other roads even doing 75 MPH seems like life or death because of how bumpy the roads are. I don't like how easily the car gets unsettled by those bumpy roads at all.
I feel much safer going fast on those roads on pretty much any other car with a softer suspension.
Now, when i'm in the U.S. the car feels completely different. The road from El Paso to Dallas is completely flat and straight. I'm pretty sure i would have no problem at all hitting the speed limiter there and probably holding it for quite a bit too. But of course this is something i'm never even going to attempt and risk getting a ticket or worse.

But back to the bumpy roads of Mexico for a bit... do you guys think that some quality coilovers would help the car feel more settled on bumpy roads? Because like i said, even at low speeds (70-80mph) the car can feel unsafe at those speeds, I pretty much feel safer on my GF's Juke or my mom's A4 at even higher speeds than that because of how much better they deal with the bumps on those roads.

On another note. It always surprises me how people in the US complain that their roads suck (compared to Europe's), the ones in Texas are pretty damn good. Maybe they do suck in other states?
