Wow sorry to hear about the misfortune. That's everyone's nightmare with a turbo setup. What I like about my setup is that my car is pretty much "n/a" most of the time since I don't get on it very much. Even if I do, it's usually half throttle. It's enough for a little turbo fun. I'm still scared to floor it in 1st haha.

Hope all goes well and you get the car running again.

Yea something I was thinking about, But going to cost me like 4k to do that, I would have to pay for the stock parts I do not have, Intakes and stock injectors+ all the labor to remove the SC kit, Then have it reinstalled and retuned later. I know its better than paying 9k to fix it on my own but why should I pay anything whem all my paper work says" The installation of the super charger will not void any of the factor warranties". If they really push on that as the only way , I will tell them" Cool Just give me back my $9600 in partd and labor that you dealer talked me into buying by telling me my warranty would not be effected".

Thats the thing that really burns me is I really was talking into it. I was at the dealer getting a oil change done, I saw the Stillen stuff everywhere and asked about it. I was also telling him( Chris - Service Manager) about the 281S- Saleen I was looking at plus the possiablity of my using the $9600 for down payment on a SS Camaro or a 5.0. He told me if I went SC on the G and I bought it from them( Stillen Auth dealer) it would not effect my warranty as it would be a Dealer installed accessory, and I would have the same power level and have AWD. I said sure check into it and let me know. He called me back the next day with all the prices and said " Nope , This WILL not effect the factor warranty in anyway". We all know about that and I told him as long as its in writing I will do it. He did I have an issue and not the signed paper work means nothing? :icon14:

I would advise you research this forum member and his personal views on GTM before commenting on a subject that has no benefit to the OP or people reading this thread. People have their preferences and reasons for going with a particular manufacturer. The OP hasn't even shared the direct cause of the issue. It could have happened with someone running the GTM kit as well. His motor failed, not his SC kit. Don't take this as me being an A-hole, just know that AMNVQ and GTM bump heads.

If you do get the dealer to rebuild the engine under warranty, I would look at forged internal parts, and buy them youselft if possible. This way you get a built block, and only have to pay for rods/pistons/studs/head gasket...and a couple of other things.

Just something to consider I guess (again if it comest to that)

GL with everything.

ANMVQ 11-10-2012 04:21 PM

The dealer won't do that, it was the first thing I thought about. I ask them if they would do that an theytold me no.

If you have a legitimate warranty claim that they won't honor, lawyer up and go get 'em!

If it's shaky ground, it might be easier to cut your losses and at least get the fresh motor. There's downtime to consider as well unless you have a second car.
