GTM fully built 7 AT
GTM has the shipped the tranny. Should be here some time next week.
hopefully i can get it installed and the drag strip will still be open, Its getting cold up here in Canada and the snow is coming soon. once i do this the build will start on the stage 2. Once Sam ships me the stage 3 SC it will be going on the built over bore 20 * block with meth and the Jun Cams in the block. 15 lbs boost = ???? rwhp. It should go 12.20 all moter on 304 rwhp that i have. now add another 250+ to the wheels and i see low 11.0 or 10.9s. For all you guys who put the Z down for saying he was going to give a GTR a run for its life at the drag strip just wait and see. Z

Awesome, I'm looking forward to the results of your install. Hopefully you can make it to the drag strip before any snow falls. GTM just finished up my stage 1.5 SC install about three weeks ago, and I am very satisfied. I can only imagine what type of neck snapping shifts your new trans will be capable of!

Awesome and good luck reaching your goals.
I'm not sure why you're talking **** about GTR's. Intake, exhaust, and a Flash and they are going 10's. No real compromise between that and your car per say, which needs a built motor, built trans, and a SC to do the same. Don't ever hate on someone who can afford a GTR and buy said GTR over a Z. I know I would if I could. |

I respect what your doing with the engine. I am shipping my cylinder heads tomorrow to Gtm for a 5 angle valve job and new valve springs and retainers and have my jun cams installed. I am sticking to NA I just can't do the F.I setup like everyone else. I should have my heads back on the car in about two to three weeks I will let you know how the cams feel

I ran my best run in the low 40's. Get that baby installed and hustle to the strip before it closes!
Tens? Ummmmm. It sure is easy to speculate. Unless that baby is popping 1.6" 60's, low elevens are going to be a carrot dangling, even with 250 more HP. BTDT. Coop

It is always nice to have a dream... Since you first made that statement, Nissan improved the GT-R to come standard with 2 unicorns. It is going to be hard to beat.

Interested to see the results.
And I agree with MMC. No one ever doubted you could give a stock GT-R a good run (especially the GT-R spec back when you started with your car), but it was always kind of a moot point... heavily modded 370 vs. a stock GT-R. What happens when the GT-R is tuned?

I agree it will but i have all the toys for the 1/4 mile on my car.
Im cutting 1.80 60fts (best one yet ) with only 304 rwhp. I may not beat a 2013 gtr but it will be a drivers a race. 2011 and lower should be a really good race. with me in it it weighs 3340 I have a good weight advantagae on him as well . And i will be fine tuning my GTM traction control unit as well. Im worried about the axles as well. But before this happens i have to run the built tranny as see how much it gives me as my first 3 gear changes are between .31 , .35 and .39 of a second the bad one is 4th to 5th it takes .61 of a second . This is with the stock transmision. It shifts this quick because of the rev matching and the 4.08 gears. Once the ecu learn it shift really quick witht the paddles. With the builtVB . extra cluch packs Sam had told me that the built unit shifts way faster and harder than the stock one As well he has improved the 4th to 5 shift. If it goes own to .42 from .62 like i have now thats 2 tenths and that would put at 12.22's .Plus the improvemnet in the other shifts, 12.1's should be possible. Time will tell. Sam has told me that there is not need to use the uprev to increase the line preasure as the VB does it all. It would be nice to beat J nauts 1/4 mile time for the quickist all moter 370 z.

2013 gtr running 10.8 to 10.9 1/4 mile times is well tuned from the factory.
Thats insanly quick. And my buddies who have the camaros, mustangs and corvett's. Next year is going to be a lot of fun at the track.

2 tenths faster shift doesn't immediatly mean you go down the 1/4 mile .2 seconds faster, especially not for a shift so late in the 1/4 like the 4-5 shift.
Interested to see how this turns out as it apparently keeps getting a little bigger and more exciting every few months with a new thread. |
