GTM VQ45HR Build?
Hi guys!
I found these pictures while looking around the forum: http://www.the370z.com/members/sam-g...30238-copy.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/sam-g...206213copy.jpg The album says GTM VQ45HR build. My search takes me to a build thread that has long been locked and I couldn't find much info about what happened to the car. Was the car ever finished? Has anyone else done a 4.5L motor? (FI or NA) Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Anybody have other pics of the car?

I think that's the "White Dragon", the car has been in development for years now it seems, at one point GTM posted a dyno graph showing just about 1,000 HP but there was never any end result shown. Of course my memory of it all is a bit fuzzy as I really didn't follow it very closely so it's quite possible that I have remembered it incorrectly.

GTM is still working on it, the car was away from GTM for awhile as it was having a Zele kit put on & modified. Last I read was they were working on doing a GT-R intake manifold conversion to the 370z. |
That exhaust o.O

Hey guys!
Just got back into the country last night... (Honeymoon with the wife) Yes the car has met the original goal set out for it. (break 1000rwhp) it did so on the stock ECU. GTM made a lot of progress with the stock ECU because of testing with this project... If you have any questions please feel free to ask! *note- I do not have any dyno sheets so please dont ask... There is a youtube video of the car making over 800+rwhp (1080+bhp) on the dyno on pump gas during new MAF testing. Boost was about 22psi I think... not totally sure. We have gone much higher than that and surpassed those numbers back early last year. We stopped pushing the HP just over the 1000rwhp last year because of the stock intake manifold. The car is getting the GTR intake manifold put back on and should hopefully be delivered home soon. |
this is what a 4.5L VQ sounds like:
*Note- Revs were capped at about ~4k rpm. |

what's the deal with those wheels? are they like 15" wide or is that just a funny camera angle? If really wide, then is that a wide body kit?

Also yes this is a widebody kit. 6" wider in the rear and 2" in the front.
