different noise from vortech help
 

i started getting a strange noise from my vortech about 2days ago not sure if i need to change the oil on it or something else is going on

i had the supercharge put in aug 2011 drove the car for maybe 1300miles since last year but most of the time it sits (jeimports 6months)

i am going to change the oil maybe thats the problem i never changed it so i am sure they did not :shakes head: hell they did not even keep my battery charged up lol

Mine did this, but on install..
oil level was at half of what it should of been. check your little dip stick on top of the charger.
I toped her off and i havent heard it since.
It also could be a bearing going on it.
I wouldnt drive it, until u figure it out.
Could mess it up more.
Also, call vortec.. they might beable to help you.

ya i was at like half the oil when i drained it looks like there there was a very very slow leak were the oil drain plug was

i fulled it up and its still making the noise so..:mad:

Hmmm, Well.
What i would do, pull the supercharger out.
Send it out to vortec, (make sure the levels right on the oil)
They should warranty it.

ok after rechecking the sound is not comming from the blower but from the driveshaft pulley ( pulley that connects the blower pulley to the pulleys on the front of the motor

That's the 9 psi pulley no? How long have you had it? Did you get the 3 warranty from stillen?

calling them monday i am just glad its not the blower

wow.. stillen must be super busy. call them monday about the problem i am have sent them pictures and a short video talked to the guy john

Try calling him again, if its John "Nawga" something like that he'll take care of you same guy I dealt with, He is good but VERY busy.. He is the only guy there.

the car sounds like i have a kenne bell under the hood its very loud when the rpms get high

In all honesty, there a bunch of idiots lol!
Im telling the guy i have a hot start issue, He told me to check my grounds bahaha.
They know nothing about there kit, the only guy who knew anything was the tuner..

Ya I don't deal with Je import anymore but I am told by stillen that they have to chk the car out and call stillen about my warranty else it's a 600 dollar part because the drive shaft pulley is a sealed bearing connected to the supercharger bracket

Um Yea There is something wrong,lol.. I know I have not hard my car is 3 months but just listened to you vid and then listened to mine. Bearing noise ftl should be covered. Your Kenney bell compare was right on hahah , should be klacking noise a Super whistle

I Was talking about stillen, not JE imports.
I havent dealt with those guys.
All i know is stillens customer support sucks,
and the guys know nothing..

You have a failed bearing. Replace asap.

It's not the blower bearings it's the driveshaft pulley you can cover that pulley and hear the normal blower sound (the pulley that connects front to rear of the bracket it's sealed ) stillen said that hold bracket needs to be replaced if that pulley is bad

I drop the car off Wednesday to hills garage for a complete engine test and tune I will go from there not driving the car much just don't want that pulley to lock up on me it will pop the front and rear belt

Frank and Suzanne will take care of ya... Hill's will get it to run the way it should. :tup:

I called for a week to get the belt sizes got no call backs. I tried to order a part and Its been another week. I wish I new who the owner of that place was, his guys are running it into the ground!:shakes head:

ya frank at hills garage fixed it he replaced the bearings in the pulley driveshaft he did not call stillen he just ordered the bearing and swapped them he said its a easy fix
