Well, they are estimating a few months at least for my project. But I wouldn't consider mine isn't a priority as they will have 9 months with the car. Because they don't have a lot of the parts required laying around, lead time is about a month before a complete kit is ready to ship. Install time, tuning, as well as chasing down any issues, I think it's an adequate estimate. I wouldn't be surprised if it took longer, but I'm not worried about it. I'll be out of the country longer.

Just got off the phone with Mike@GTM. Had to personally thank they for taking my money . I asked them a few questions, some I'm sure you all might be interested in. Of course I asked when I should start seeing headway, and I was correct in that they should be getting balls deep into things around then. They have some tests to do on their shop cars as well, so my car is freeing up their shop car time . They already have the complete kit so there is no wait time for any of the parts. I still think I'll be checking my email 50x per day anyways.

He mentioned my vehicle making very respectable numbers. Big relief there as I replaced the O2 sensor and didn't have a chance to put in the new spark plugs, put the manifold back on, or change the oil. I explained that to him and helped clear up my email to him and why I was so concerned. I didn't want them chasing problems I gave them. Mike said they didn't see any issues with the baseline, as i gave a good indicator of overall health.

Next question was regarding my LTH's. HE got in to explaining the flow benching they did when first testing the VQ37VHR. The engine is really efficient at moving air and the stock headers do a damn fine job. When we start opening things up even more, the air can possibly blow right through the heads, especially with VVEL. He said they plan on doing some fluid dynamic testing to try and match the housing and pulley's to what I have running. They really don't have an accurate picture on what to expect until they start testing. He seemed confident they can get everything working properly. I'm all for taking it where no one else has.

If push comes to shove, I have my stock headers/stock cats in the garage, I would prefer not to. They're ugly haha. I'm so superficial. Who knows, maybe I have to run the kit balls to the wall to get it working with the headers, bring it!

I'd stick with the LTH regardless

Especially since valve timing is now a tunable parameter.

If GTM tunes VVEL and the motor responds the way we think it does, this might be like the holy trinity of VQ supercharging. GTM SC kits, LTH/CBE, and VVEL tuning. I won't get too far ahead of myself. I don't know if GTM will be doing VVEL tuning with the standard tuning on my vehicle, and it's anyone's guess on what the results will be, let alone adding an unknown variable into the mix. I can't wait till we get to that point where we start seeing data behind all the theory.

I don't really understand the dual supercharger deal? If you don't care about being smog legal why not just do dual turbos and call it done. Seems like you're injecting lots of complexity ( points of potential failure with more belts pulleys etc)? More weight more to turn more parasitic drag. Maybe I'm missing something?

It's cool from engineering standpoint but I don't get it? I'd rather see a roots type for VQ that would be cool!

And I can tell you long tube headers bumped my power significantly. The stockers do not flow well. You just need to know how to tune to higher flow.
Valentino and DEpointfive0 like this.

the problem with a roots style charger is that we do not have the space for it... Unless someone makes a hood specifically for that type of charger you wont see one...

The Stage 2 C38 supercharger mounting location wouldn't allow me to run with LTH's. If you were in my position and was given this offer, I'm pretty sure you would completely understand. Outside of that, curiosity and having the chance getting something new out for the VQ were other reasons.
