soon to be GTM 1.5 SC

Hey guys last time i made a thread i was about to get a STILLEN SC but after getting sweet talked by SAM at GTM I just had to go with there product:excited:... I just finished paying for the 1.5 SC kit :happydance: but before it ships out i would like to know what pulley size would be best for a daily driver.. I am a little power hungry and want to be as close to 500whp:driving: but not put my engine in the red zone.. my options are 98mm, 92mm, or 88mm.. I might go for the 92mm pulley but my heart isnt set on it yet... if any one knows what boost and whp numbers i can see with anyone of there pulleys then please chime in.

thanks

Man I hope you get to the number you want, An are happy , Didnt you mention something about the Dealer warrenty with the Stillen?

Baer383 08-21-2012 12:15 PM

I have this same kit the 88mm is a 11 lb pulley and mine is making 500 at the wheels on Meth and mine is a 7at,a 6sp will make a little more.

I was at one point concerned with the warranty issue but i have seen how stable and safe SCing these cars really are. I believe that
GTM had an article on SC vs. Turbo and they happen to mention that SCing these cars have less of a bad impact on the rods and pistons because of the linear power then when going turbo. In alot of cases on this forum you have seen a lot more rebuilds on guys who are Turbo then SC.

I guess i'm going by instinct and hoping for the best on my build. If worst comes to worst I can look into getting drop-in pistons and new rods to hold up the boost.

Nice man good luck on your project also, I had to change my APT to Sept 1 (Due to work) But we'll see,

CR Racing in Long Island NY and tuning done by API TUNING in Yonkers NY..

i was thinking of going with the 88mm pulley from the start but i would feel like i wouldn't be able to upgrade from that if i want more power.. lol:eekdance:

here is my video with only test pipes done by CR Racing and API TUNING.....

I have never heard of them and I am in that area all the time for years in Dobbs Ferry right by Yonkers.

I see you have the install and tune covered I was going to recommend
Real Auto Dynamics in Long Island for install and tune.

I am not sure how much the install would be but give the shop a call 516-442-7155. There in long Island I got my Twin Turbo install done there. You can get your install and tune done there.

What transmission upgrades did you do if any?

None really just a 25 row trans cooler with a 6.5 in fan in front of it and my line pressure is turned up so much it chirps 2nd gear.:icon17:

jezeka777 08-22-2012 08:58 PM

As of right now I decided to go with a 92mm pulley to see how much power I get out of it first before going to smaller pulley.. I'm hoping my selection will always be able to get me anywhere between 480 - 500whp. Plus in the video you can see that my rev limiter has been raised pretty high so I'm pretty sure I'll still be making horsepower throughout the whole entire rpm band.

You won't get 480-500 with the 92mm pulley I had it on mine I got 450 rwhp after a good tune @ Z1

With a 6sp maybe 460 and maybe 470 if your tune is on the money, just order the 88mm pulley this way you will have what you want, you don't have to floor it all the time, plus the extra pulleys are 200 bucks a pop.

yea you got a point:tup:.. 92mm is 10lb and 88mm is 11lb? but i want to brake in the SC and my motor with the boost for a bit then add more power to it if i can later on.

The SC break in is only 60 miles and you engine is basically broke in now,I put my SC on my car with only 3000 miles and I have never looked back.

Agree

jezeka777 08-29-2012 11:03 AM

Hey guys haven't been on in a bit. so my car currently revs up to 8,000 rpm and i am about to install my supercharger kit hopefully soon. do you think its ok for me to still have 8,000 rpm rev limiter when boosting on SC kit?

I would say no, really no need for it.
I would say the only reason I would do it if I am seeing power all the way to 8k RPM limit. Even then though you will be pushing the block harder and harder each time you hit that. Built block with 8k.

ANMVQ 08-30-2012 07:58 AM

I agree reving to 8k is asking for trouble, there is a boom story on here and the guy was reving the car that high.. Stay at 7300-7500,

jezeka777 08-30-2012 08:45 AM

the reason i have the rev isn't to see more power but its so when i shift i am closer to my peak HP again and don't get as much lag when going through the mid rpms..

theDreamer 08-30-2012 09:02 AM

With the 1.5 kit and the amount of power you can tune it up to, having the limiter at 7500 is plenty.
I would lower it back to stock once the kit is on and drive it for awhile and see how you like it and after that if you feel the need to raise it then go ahead but I doubt you will find a need.

That's a solid point.

Baer383 09-25-2012 08:05 AM

I have been busy for awhile so I haven't been on the forums much I just finished putting my stage 1.5 on my new 2013 Nismo with only 300 miles on it and it feels stronger than before and very stock feeling when driven.

ANMVQ 09-25-2012 08:23 AM

In for dyno numbers, Glad you like it

Maybe this Saturday but don't forget I had this kit on my white 2010 and made 500rwhp w/Meth this time I don't have Meth on it.

ANMVQ 09-28-2012 08:09 AM

So maybe like 470 WHP?

I hoping for at least 480 but my car has only 500 miles on it so I don't know if that will be a factor.

jezeka777 10-01-2012 10:47 PM

Good to be back guys. haven't been on here in like for ever. i have great news i finally got my kit installed monday drove it like a grandma and got it tunes yesterday. i made 474whp on my hot run and 483whp on my cool run. my pulley size is a 92mm and i believe i was making 9psi. the car is a f!@#ing monster and screams like one too..... i will post up pics and videos soon. might make new thread too...

jezeka777 10-01-2012 10:48 PM

thankyou gtm for my BAD A** car
