Maybe its the 370z tank design. has anyone moved the mafs yet to prove it is better? i was also told by the guys that deal with vortech in Australia and they said its best to convert the supercharger to a T trim i just need more boost down low so would love to get your feed back when you get the car back on the road

Nissan370 09-04-2012 06:11 AM

i will be upgrading to the t-trim blower if i can find a way to move the maf after the blower and find a way to increase the cooling affect of the intake intercooler as of right now i cant see how that thing is doing anything in the way of cooling the intake air it gets way to hot
the fmic on my mustang never got that hot and i could even touch the intake after a good run but this intake on the 370z i can cook an egg on it no way its cooling the intake air more the a few degrees at best
even with a good tune we found that on hot days the car was pulling timing

a larger tank to hold coolant and moving it to the trunk should help and a larger heat exchange going to try that first .

then look into making some kind of pipe or box to hold the mafs in after the blower

i would love to get this thing working great but i kinda think this kit was made as a one shot deal any atemp to increase the power on this kit almost means fail

I wouldnt move the MAF's. Just some things I have been talking to different people on, Lets just say that "maybe" the issues some of the other kits out there going boom,. I was told I should leave the MAF's where there are, If you need to read intake temp get a seperate sensor for that, The T trim is waste unless your going to build the motor, I was reading the T trim isnt in its range to after 15 PSI,. That much on a stock block = no car. ?

The heat issue I hope is solved with the MUCH bigger heat exchanger, We'll see when I get the car back,

We are going to try to move a MAF's, Get rid of the stillen intake and run a stock plenuim, Air to Air.. it cant hurt to try. I just havent had time to stop at sasha's shop.
I was suppose to meet up with them last monday, i had 2 weddings, so that didnt work out.
Ill keep you guys posted, the intake tube turned out perfect that i had fabed.
but the intake tube is useless, im going Air to Air. Well see how it goes.
^ your right, the t-trim is way out of our league.

Hey thanx EVO, Keep us posted, I know we spoke about this also, Just intrested in seeing how the MAF's would read boosted air? Thanx man, Yea tell me about I having no time WHO does, LOL

once my auto is built i will get the

1 step colder plugs
turbo smart kompact 25mm plumb back bov
2.80 hi traction pulley
and re tune

would love to get it done soon so i can take it to the drags its spring in Australia and it is starting to warm up
need to beat my personal best 12.3 114mph

Nissan370 09-05-2012 06:02 AM

does anyone know the size of the stock pulley or the 9lb pulley we can get with the kit i was going to get the smallest pulley i can to see what the boost and slippage looked like

before going with the cog set-up i mean if slippage is minimal i may not need to change over to the cog set-up but i do want atleast 14-15psi up top

I think the standard pulley is 3.12 and the 9 lb pulley is 2.75 i am going for a 2.8 hi traction pulley which i asked vortech and said it is just sand blasted finish i have a 2.95 in there at the moment and im seeing 9lb up top so i will be happy with 10lp up top with the new pulley

Nissan370 09-06-2012 07:33 AM

i got the 9lb pulley from stillen and i am seeing 10.5psi @7400 rpms
just wanted to know that pulley size since i cant get an answer from stillen

not supprised you cant get an answer from them.. LOL they did not want to tell me anything when I started this either, But that sounds about right on your PSI, I was seeing 9 sometimes 10 up top on the 8PSI pulley. When all said and done I hope to see 13 :tiphat:

Osiris 09-06-2012 09:28 AM

just for reference, i have the Stillen 9lb pulley & the cogged pulley setup and i'm getting 11.7psi.

Yea you have TP's tho. Less PSI, Still nice 3 PSI more is good, I'll see more than that becasue I upgraded the SC also :) I have stock cats. What is your WHP?
