GTM TT Install Costs

I'm sorry I have to ask this question, I have searched some threads in regarding how much it would cost to do a proper TT setup and i cannot honestly find a thread where everyone says the same thing. I'v been reading and alot of people are throwing out different numbers such as someone said their setup including a clutch, test pipes, exhaust, tune, and install ran them $10,900. I read others saying anywhere from 11-15k. I have read what others have installed in their cars that pertain to a TT setup so I will be basing my questions off that. If anyone has anything else positive to add to what i think is considered a pretty proper TT setup, then please add.

So my question is how much would a GTM stage 2 kit with a clutch, gtm 3 inch down pipes, gtm 3 inch exhaust, 34 row oil cooler, install, and tune run me? I live about an hour away from GTM so i would be buying all the parts at once from them. If anyone would like to share what their exact costs were that are similar to what i have in mind, that would be great. If you dont feel comfortable telling everyone you could always PM me, but im sure there has to be others that are wanting to know the exact same thing so sharing could benefit everyone. I'm wondering if i buy all the parts from GTM if they give discounts on purchases over 10k.

Also i forgot to ask and i have not found a straight answer on this either. How much is install ONLY on a TT kit? I know for superchargers the install is alot less. Iv read it can be anywhere from $900-$1200. I know the TT install requires more work and more labor so i want to know how much labor would be for an install.

Thanks guys and if i missed a thread that specifically answers my question please post it on this thread and send me in the right direction. :tiphat:

Ninja edit! When i was looking at the GTM kits, they have 4 different stages available... So stage 1 says 500hp and stage 2 says 700hp. Does that mean how much hp each turbo can handle? I saw a black Nismo on here for sale and he said he had the stage 1 kit and made 570rwhp or something along those lines which is of course more than 500hp. So how much rwhp can a stage 1 and a stage 2 kit make if you completely maxed out the turbos? After beating around the bush thats my question lol.

I would give GTM a call and schedule an appointment to discuss and get a quote. If you're not that serious yet, I would use the 10k as probably a good ballpark number based on everything I've read. Vendors don't typically post costs on the forums, but you could PM GTM as well.

I just don't see how it could be right around 10k being that the kit alone on the websites is 8k by itself, which isn't including labor, a clutch, down pipes, and exhaust. A clutch can be upwards on 2k for a moderate setup, and their exhaust is 2k. So with just the kit and some components that's 14k right there with no labor and no extras. That's how I'm not understanding how some people are saying they paid less than what everything seems to cost if you just add it up. Hell their prices are even cheaper if they did all the labor themselves.

Kit 8K, install and tune 3k GTM 3" exhuast 2k, clutch etc 2k, so 15k should be a ballpark number to start with.

10k for TT and tune, kaienz34 gives a great ballpark for everything. Again, if you want hard numbers, best to get with GTM. Sounds like a lot of fun! :driving:

That's exactly what I was thinking. Your numbers are the same as mine. I still don't get how some, like I have mentioned, have paid lower. Maybe it would be best to pm them and ask how they paid so much less than what I added up the costs to be

KaienZ34 07-28-2012 09:50 AM

I'm sure you can get a little bit better deal than the prices on there site if you talk to them and you plan on getting all or most of everrything from them.

GTM website will tell you cost of parts an install.

15k is a good number. On top of that you still need gauges to monitor everything

Here is my idea of a "budget" for a TT especially if it's a DD. In my opinion if you are serious about a nice build I would "budget" $25k. Yeah you can get everything installed for around 15-16k like others have said but you need some oh shit money. I would never go F.I. Unless I had an extra 10k to throw down if say I ended up needing a new block. You could go F.I. And never have a problem, but I like to plan for the worst and hope for the best. Obviously this is just my two cents.

I have always been the same way. I like to keep some money set aside just in case something happens. I have thought about getting a GTR, I most likely could afford one, but I wouldn't feel financially secure if I did purchase one. Im only 20 and I'm fortunate enough already to be able to afford a 370z and a TT kit and still feel financially secure.

NitrousZ34 07-28-2012 07:19 PM

Thank you to everyone. It looks like around 15k give or take is a pretty set price on a decent TT setup. Not bad considering that a TT Z can keep up with cars that cost twice as much
