GTM valve body upgrad 7AT

Hey guys as most of you know I am in the process of installing a gtm sc stage 1.5 on my 7AT, now from what I have been reading is that with the nessasary precautions taken meaning transmition cooler and a good transmission tune as well as knowing the limitation of our gears they should hold up pretty good, but stil the 5th 6th and 7th gears are the shortest or ones with a higher chance of getting damaged. I am about to purchase the GTM valve body upgrade, so was wondering how much this will help our tranny, will I be able to push the car a bit harder with this upgrade? And please guys with this upgrade who have already tested it let us know how your tranny are holding up with this mod and how different the drivability and shifts etc become with this upgrade, any info will be most welcomed thank you in advance

There I who VB for us yet. I would just run the UPREV tune on the TQ tables for now.i'm in the same boat. May save for a LVL 10 tranny. Coop really likes his and has big power.

Actually, we do have a Valve Body Upgrade available for the 7 speed transmission: GTM Motorsports*::*AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION*::*GTM Valvebody Upgrade for 7 speed A/T

That's what Zuperman is referring to. ;)

Yes exactly Mike that's exactly what I was referring to, I actually placed an order with you guys for that, how harder will I be able to push my transmission harder with this mod? As I understand it helps the 5 6 and 7 gear the most, can you please explain to us here on the benefits of this upgrade breifly.

Bummer for the 7at guys as its an inhouse only upgrade but if it works like the 5at upgrade its worth it for the wait.

Yes it is, All tho you could buy one from the dealer and then have them build it so you dont lose the car or have to drive there which for me WAY on the eastcoast is out. rather save for a full tranny build, Which will also increase our 5-6-7 gears.

I'm prety sure I'm one of the first, however it's on a G37. Initially the shifts were slightly improved (quickened/firmed up). It is back at GTM being tuned for more pressure that will make it shift harder.
The G37 7AT shifts very slow stock and has a significant lag from the paddle in manual mode to actual shift. The VB upgrade improved this slightly but was still too slow & soft. Now bear in mind that over 150 Whp was added at the same time as the VB upgrade when the twin turbos were installed.

I expect to have the car back in the next week or so. When I get some miles in on the car I will post updates. I know they are still perfecting the VB upgrade through trial & error. So results will vary as they get it fine tuned and install it on differing applications and customer requests/preferences. (for instance I asked for better timing on shifts, but not tooth shattering shifts)

I dialed in my line pressure myself with the rom editor by getting the calculated load to 100% @ WOT and you can change the pressure in the torque management section to shift quicker and firmer, plus you can log if the 7AT is slipping mine was a little but not anymore.

Man that's prob my next upgrade now, if you don't ind me asking how long did it take gtm to build the tranny for you, and why did you go with stage 4.

I got the final version of the 7At VB upgrade complete. The car drives so nice!
The shifts are 3x as firm (stock is prety mushy). I love the faster response time! I think this has a lot to do with preference. Some guys are going to want lightning fast shifts that can handle 700whp. This is not for me! I do t track the car, I just want my 500+Whp that will smoke most cars on the road.
If you want the best, go with the stage 4 by GTM. I drove a 370 at SAMs shop with TT setup. It was much faster shift times, but with that came a more "race" feel with less luxury than I am in for. After all I bought the Infiniti :)
The only question now is how long I can keep my stock tranny alive while I abuse it on the road. I'm told 500+ Whp will eat any stock tranny. Maybe I need the GTR trans? :)
I'll keep posted on my experience with it! (maybe a video or 2)
