AH sorry man lots going on.. No both fittings are there and where tight, I guess the pin hole let water in some how? I have been on the phone with them today to see whats up, Still in the air if they will cover it. They wanted to just fill it with new fluid and send it back to me casue is sounds fine, But I will no longer have a warrenty on it becasue it had water in it once, If I want the warrenty I need to rebuild it?? But they where going to call Vortech again and talk to them and see.. Really the kit has like 5k miles and was on the car for 5-6 months?

On.so.Stillen nor Vortech will warranty it. So I called 928 and spoke to Carl a good 30mins. he said he we more than happy to take my money but me told me in his professional option it shouldn't have to be rebuilt. we talked about how long we think water was in there and if there was any damage ,he didn't think so. he said let Stillen flush and refill it and drive it. I got so caught up on the water thing I forgot to ask why he thought it wouldn't have been building boost. I have to call him back tomorrow and ask. but really could this while thing been dirty MAC's. but there is no way for the fluid to get on them? Ahh damn can't believe I forgot to ask. UG

I believe by law they have to honor the warranty unless they can prove that you did something to void it. May want to consider a nice letter from an attorney friend along those lines. Unfortunately, companies often have to be bullied into doing the right thing. I don't know all the facts, but if things are as you say, then you shouldn't just give up.

Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act

Quote:

The federal minimum standards for full warranties are waived if the warrantor can show that the problem associated with a warranted consumer product was caused by damage while in the possession of the consumer, or by unreasonable use, including a failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance.
Basically, they must prove you caused the damage, and it was not a product defect.

Now. If it was an INSTALLATION defect, that's a different story.

Yea well see, Not really Stillens deal, I just spoke to Stillen again and they are going to see if they can work something out with Vortech, Stillen seems to be trying the best they can on this so we'll see. John at Stillen has been VERY helpful on this.

They only thing Vortech can prove is there is water in it, They can not prove how or why. They can only specualte I power washed it, thats all they keep saying.. Which again I did not, I'm honestly not that dumb. LOL Would have covered it to protect the belt anyway. ?

djtodd 08-01-2012 11:22 AM

Agreed. But, speculation != proof. Hold them to the fire.

ANMVQ 08-02-2012 01:46 PM
