Sorry for all the Q's but I don't have anyone else with this kit yet to compare.

It'll be fun!

Wait... Let me get this straight... Stock cats only limited you by 11hp, and you LOST a crapload of tq... Yeah, the line is flatter with TPs, but the numbers don't actually look any better
And wait, with TPs and NO exhaust you gained OVER 100hp and only lost 7 ft/lb of torque... Something doesn't seem right in this equation

I believe he means that his is the second car being tested and having the kit installed.

It's going! I am doing TT kit plus big cooling upgrades and an EBCS. Not sure about an estimate. Maybe by the end of this month. Don't want to jinx it or set unreasonable expectations.

Different strokes for different folks. Both kits have virtues. For me, having a shop nearby and retaining the front crash beam were requisites. I think BP's kit looks like a great option too. At the end of the day, all of these kits, when properly installed and tuned, are going to make a very fast Z.

Well, there are multiple reasons to purchase our upcoming kit. First of all, we’ve been designing turbo kits for the Nissan Z for over 6 years now and we’ve received lots of feedback on our designs and revisions over the years. Before that, we were making improvements on kits that we were installing and selling. One of the things about the MHI kit is that we’ve taken a lot of this feedback to heart and worked to develop a system that keeps things very simple and straightforward for a twin turbo kit. Keep in mind that our original premise for our twin turbo kit was big power and scalability. This new kit is designed with the premise of being less invasive to the car while keeping as much OEM equipment intact and undisturbed as possible with more than enough power for the stock engine. This kit isn’t setup for a Stage 6 1300hp setup the way our Garrett based kit is. We’re really going for solid, stock block numbers with unbeatable response and good power potential as well. The optional 20g turbos for example are capable of 880hp which is more than enough for the vast majority of people looking to do forced induction. The 16g setup is capable of making enough power to max out the stock block with excellent boost response and drivability. After all, there is no reason to have a laggy turbo setup on the stock engine when a smaller, more responsive setup is more than capable of delivering more power than the stock engine can take reliably.

A lot of the advantages our competitors are touting will be moot very shortly since we are going to be raising the bar even higher with this system. Keep in mind that a lot of these changes are fairly subtle in nature and that the core design is still going to deliver our signature power and response as well as the durability and reliability we are already known for.

As far as choosing our kit over a competitor’s kit, one thing you need to keep in mind is that regardless of kit design, adding forced induction to a naturally aspirated engine successfully relies on one very important aspect: tuning. We have sold over 800 Twin Turbo Kits around the world with the vast majority using our tune very successfully. This doesn’t even include all the supercharger kits we’ve sold worldwide. In total, we’ve tuned thousands of cars with forced induction. That kind of experience with forced induction tuning simply isn’t available with our competitor’s products. Keep in mind that we’re only talking about Nissan 350Z’s, 370Z’s, Infiniti G35’s and G37’s. The VQ’s are pretty much all we do.

Since we have so much experience with forced induction tuning, we understand and know what does and does not work well when it comes to forced induction system design. This is a very important aspect to understand. When you design a system, you need to be able to tune it and if the design hinders tuning potential, then the system is practically worthless. This is why our supercharger kits are so successful. We designed the system to be tuned well. The same philosophy in system design is very much applicable with our MHI kits.

One of the biggest advantages of our MHI kit is cost. This is going to be by far the most competitively priced turbo system out there. Furthermore, the various stages will all be the same price so only the customer’s need for speed will dictate which system they get.

To simply this, here’s a quick rundown on what we offer with this kit.

1) The GTM Kit keeps factory crash bar. The competition does not.
2) The GTM Kit is compatible with automatic and manual transmissions. Some competing products are only compatible with manual transmissions.
3) The GTM Kit offers more bang for the buck since it will be more affordable than the other turbo kits on the market. Furthermore, it has the potential to deliver more power out of the gate. 16g’s, 18g’s, and 20g’s are all priced the same so only your thirst for power is the limit.
4) GTM offers a true Turn-Key Solution with our wealth of experience with tuning this platform.
5) GTM is a business with a brick and mortar facility with bona fide business hours, phone number, e-mail address and fax number.
6) GTM has been in business for 26 years.
7) The GTM kit is compatible with every aftermarket cat-back on the market. Some competing forced induction solutions are not.
8) There is no drilling and tapping of the cylinder head or upper oil pan with this new kit and no scavenge pump required.
9) The factory steering system remains intact.
10) The GTM Kit can use the factory catalytic converters. Some competing forced induction systems require emissions equipment to be removed.

Will you be pursuing CARB certification for this new kit?
