Nice read mike....So what would be needed for the 7AT to handle the power that this kit (the one in this thread) is making? Just a tune and cooler? VB upgrade plus tune and cooler, or a fully built trans?

As Sam said earlier, a tune and a cooler does work well enough. The Valve Body Upgrade and a cooler works better. A built transmission is not necessary at these levels so long as you recognize the limitations of the higher gears. While the Valve Body Upgrade will certainly help in the higher gears, it is just a good idea to play it safe on the stock clutch packs.

what kinda of price range are we looking at for these upgrades? i really want to go FI with the function of my higher gears and not lose my abiltity to hit 160MPH lol (more with speed limiter off)

i love the fact that we can gain so much with a nice twin turbo kit but i dont want it to cost me the functions of my car is all. nothing against anyone just a personal choice i'm gonna have to make i guess lol

:iagree: with all of this

I'd be happy with the power that this kit made and a nice safe 7AT.

Well, here is a link to our Stage 4 Transmission Build: GTM Motorsports*::*AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION*::*GTM Stage 4 Transmission Upgrade That is a fully built transmission, valve body upgrade, and torque converter.

Also, if you have access to a transmission shop that you feel is competent enough to take your transmission apart and put it back together properly, we have the parts to build the transmission on our website as well. We should have master overhaul kits on there soon as well. So, basically, if you want all the parts to build a Stage 4 transmission, but don't want us to actually build it for you, then that option will be available.

i saw that already on the site but wasn't sure if that was def one for the 370. sometimes when i search for 370 parts some 350 ones get put in there too. just wanted to make sure it was the correct one i was looking at. is it really that expensive though? i mean $6K is alot i feel but then again i never rebuilt a tranny. depending on what you guys are charging for the new TT kit and labor for installs i gotta see where that puts me on what i want to spend total. i'd love to give you guys the business since you do make very good quality products.

It would be awesome if this thread got back to the turbo kit results and a new thread regarding tranny issues / builds was started. I want to know more about the new TT!

sorry for semi-derailing the topis but the new kit is on a 7AT so i just had some questions regarding the pairing of this TT kit and the 7AT. technically it is somewhat still on topic :tiphat:

also there is a thread that talks specifically about the 3 new turbos GTM is using for the new TT kit they are putting out but i cant remember what the link to it is. just fyi since you seem so interested in only the new TT kit.

edit: here is that thread GTM turbo update

Dear GTM, Please, pretty please, fab up some exhaust manifolds that would allow the 16g turbo kit from needing drilling/tapping, I want this kit so bad but am not willing to alter/drill into the block.

Dear rxdo, it has been 12 days since you asked this question last. In that amount of time, my answer to your question has not changed. ;)

Actually, that is something that is already in the works. We would like you to know, however, that there is a really big difference between designing/making a new mold for casting and designing/making billet brackets. While billet brackets have a high per unit cost, the upfront capital investment in molds for casting is astronomical in comparison.

Mike, would it be best to have someone send you the car to work on both the TT Install and tranny upgrade at the same time... Or bring it in for the tranny work first, and then at a later date do the TT install? I know logically which one sounds better as a given, but say finances didn't permit both, you would opt for the tranny work prior to the TT work correct?

Very interested in price

Just got my estimate and now it's time to do some serious thinking and saving lol I really would love to have Gtm install mine but shipping the car to and from Cali seems like a bit much....unless I wait til winter when I park my car lol

Also I'd like to thank mike at Gtm for the offer of a quote and quick response afterwards. Kudos for the great customer service to mike and all the guys at Gtm.

That would prolly be the best idea, when you'll most likely not even be driving it anyways.

Agreed but shipping my car from PA to Cali and back is probably like $2500

If you're footing the bill for a TT install, and potentially a tranny build too, isn't it worth it for the insurance of knowing it's safe...

Either that or add up what the cost of gas/hotels would be to get there and a plane ticket back x 2 of course... Which is cheaper?
