Completely different reasons for failure, but a good read nonetheless

You may also note my advice/fear-mongering/hate/flaming early in that thread.

It's important to ensure the shop is vetted properly. S&r has one car with the design running around, and even a horribly designed system will take it's time to fail.

Man sure is alot of talk but no proof of nothing. If you don't have proof than stop being a troll.

Yea I cant see how that intake runner sitting right next to that turbo will have no effect on the intake temps on that side. Im no expert tho.

If you guys would like to lay out any specific questions, i'd be happy to address them. We've got several HR builds under out belts now. We've got the first hand experience to answer the questions so there is no need to speculate or assume of what might to what.

there is a method to our madness and we only do what works and what we see perform.

^^^^^ Thanks for dropping in on this ^^^^^ I would not do this if i did not have the up most confidence in these guys. So far they have been great about everything. Marti is very aware of how picky i am and that i am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to turbos. Every time that I have called him he is not had ay problem answering my questions. And he will gladly answer any that I have a long way.

In theory.. yes... in reality, even stock turbo setups have intake piping running over the hot side or directly over the engine which (theoratically) should capture all the heat off the head.

Your hr builds don't use this method of routing because they don't run dual tb's.

Can you post your iat results?

The problem is more the inconsistency between sides rather than the heat itself.

Air behaves differently at different temps, and you are going to wind up with a good bit of delta

Trying to be helpful and suggesting to you some reading that might prove helpful or give you some additional insight into what all could be involved in a single turbo build is not the same thing as trolling. :shakes head:

To keep this in line the questions are:
-How are you dealing with the heat from the turbo not getting into the intake piping?
-How are you measuring IAT?
-What testing has been done, besides idle & dyno tuning? Not going to say, oh no 2 year product see the door, but how long have cars been running with this design and any issues?

valpozguy 05-30-2012 01:23 PM

Marti told me the intake runners are the same length. Im sure he will drop in here again and verify what i have already asked him.
