I'm thinking about getting external wastegates in preparation for the F.I. 3" exhaust. How much trouble is it to get to the turbos and install the wastegates?

Installing the external wastegates would be easy, but then you need to a way to keep the internal wastegate flapper shut. You could rig something together to hold it shut but welding the flapper would be best, GTM welds these shut prior to shipping them. Removing the turbos from the car is a bit of work. |

Yea, I'm pretty sure the flapper is going to get welded shut if I were to go for the external wg route. We'd have to switch out the down pipes anyhow. If I can keep the internal wg, then that would make life easy especially for daily driving. I hardly make peak boost on a daily basis other than to test or make some vids. It's nice to put the vids on the repeat without wearing down the engine or burning so much fuel
My current exhaust setup is the F.I. HFC and TDX, so I'm not surprised about the minor restriction. I did dial in the MBC another quarter turn, and the response is greatly improved without the need to hit max PSI.

Thanks, I might look into getting the EVC 6. Man, I completely forgot about the feedback system with the EBC in regards to maintaining target boost when I shopped for boost controllers. It was originally planned, but I got lazy and was scared 400 whp was too much for daily driving. I didn't know the car was THAT easy to drive under boost.
IIRC, Sam mentioned pushing the Stage 2 beyond 15 PSI on a built block with internal WGs, so I'll definitely think about it. If that's the case, I can quickly enjoy the new exhaust setup and get the EBC afterward.

We are working on a solution to allow the turbos to remain in the car and be able to go from internal gates to external gates. We'll keep you posted.
