New tune and new numbers on my SC kit

After moving from NY down to Charlotte North Carolina I was in desperate need of a retune on my Stillen SC setup with the 9 PSI pulley and 928 motorsports impeller. In NY I put down about 420WHP and 300WTQ on a dynapack dyno, the car felt awesome but I felt I should be seeing slightly better numbers out of the kit. So I thought now was the time to do my research and find a shop that could get the performance out of the kit I installed.

After calling around a bit and doing some research I realized there didn't seem to be much of a Z community in the area but I stumbled upon Motion Lab Tuning right here in Charlotte and was immediately impressed. So fast forward to the results and the car feels like a whole new beast, putting down about 425WHP and 315WTQ on a Mustang dyno.

Attached are the graphs, note that the baseline isn't against my own car but rather a generic bolt on Z just to show gains.

Great numbers. I bet it feels awesome!

Nice what octane was your gas?

Neo187H 04-23-2012 09:11 PM

93 octane at all times, though the gas doesn't seem as good down here as it was in NY.

Yeah I actually talked with them a bit about your setup as well but figured I would let you be the one to post that up if you wanted. :icon17:

Def good guys to do business with, they know their stuff.

V8Killer 04-23-2012 09:37 PM

Ya Todd is awesome. Those goes will do great once they get their dyno in.

For sure, they are looking into becoming sponsors on here actually.

I'd love to check out the nitrous setup once you're totally up and running.

Ya I want to get the word out about these guys

Ya man no doubt, if we are ever in the same area lol I'm 5 hours from Charlotte.

Oh wow, didn't realize you drove that far to get tuned by them. After only a month I hardly know Charlotte let alone the rest of the state lol.

Where do you order 928 impeller and 9psi pulley? Did you change injectors? Still using stock MAF?

RCZ 04-24-2012 07:59 AM

^ 928 Motorports, Stillen, No, Yes.

Just an educated guess ;)

ANMVQ 04-24-2012 08:28 AM

Good numbers, But the 9PSI pulley from Stillen is the (Stock kit pulley) With the impeller pulley from 928 you should have seen see better numbers looks like Motion Lab fixed it, Your first numbers where exactly like mine and I do not have the impeller upgrade? :/.
Are you a auto?

RCZ was spot on for most of it, though I'm running 725cc Injector Dynamic injectors and upgraded MAF through GTM. The stock was totally maxed out right around 7100RPM

What kind of dyno were you running on? For comparison sake RCZ put down something like 410WHP on a mustang dyno and than 455 on a dynojet, if memory serves, so there is a large difference between different dynos. Assuming all mustang dynos are the same, 420 on a mustang would be closer to 455-465 on a higher reading dynojet.

I have a 6 speed manual, also have a full exhaust hence the low boost numbers.

Yea Dynos are different I know, My tune and dyno was on local heartbreaker( Mustang Dyno). Funny this is there is lots of talk about my car , becasue of the AWD and being 7spd, an stock cats, but making such good numbers. but much props to Rob and kaizen Tuning,
How much was the upgraded MAF? IS it on there site or did you contact Sam.

I think the stock cats at this point are actually HELPING you create power due to helping you build boost though that is pretty awesome on an AWD automatic. Do you have a boost gauge? If so what are you hitting?

They are available on the site though you should be fine where you sit now, you can easily check what MAF voltage the car is seeing through any OBDII logger.

I think they were around $250 each, honestly I can't really remember at this point.

Yea thanx the power and no spin( other than a little hicup the the t-case grabs) is so nice..I do have a boost gauge( seeing 9 PSI) , along with tranny and oil temp. I'll check my MAF's this weekend and check, only reason I asked was I threw a MAP sensor code last week, and had my tuner change the the voltage range on it.
