Any benefit to installing meth injection on Stillen SC?
The title pretty much sums it up, I don't know too much about meth injection and can only find one car with it here on the forums and thats a TT setup. So I was wondering from more knowledable people than myself, would port meth injection add any real benefit to the Stillen kit pushing approx 10PSI?

Hi neo, this is my first post on this site.Basically because I'm a newbe and feel more comfortable just reading info now on these cars. However if you can extrapolate the info I gained from dealing with a 500 horse Buick Grand National. I ran alhky injection which allowed me to raise the boost upwards of 26-27 lbs of boost. I would also go to Menards and buy a gallon of Toulane or a quart of xylene. All to avoid detonation. In fact running alhky injection was a very popular, cheap and easy mod to increase boost thus horsepower. You could inject 70%,90% or the 99% alhky. 70 & 90 I got @ Walgreens 99 @ work because that was used in boring to clear out moisture in air lines. I haven't been around GN's for years since I sold my 87. Maybe this will help you and good luck.
P.S. I believe meth was a lot more corrosive than alhky. |

Meth will give you lower AIT temps, prevent knock, allow to pull more timing, increase fuel octane rating, and allow you to run more boost(if you change your sc pulley). Just make sure you get a fail-safe kit. Also, if you run 100% meth, you will pick up some power.

1. I wouldn't inject before the SC; it may pit the rotor.
2. Try a direct port injection kit -- you may (or may not) be able to run more timing. I don't think this motor likes to run too much advance, but if you run lower timing ordinarily, you should be able to add a degree or two back. 3. Absolutely run a failsafe. 4. I'd experiment with mixtures -- a blend of distilled water and some sort of alcohol will work best (the mixture displaces air and fuel, so...), but for PURE anti det, nothing beats running just water. It has an effective octane of infinity, after all.
