Why is that? They are both aluminum and roughly the same thickness. I figured with all the extra fins in the middle that it would absorb as much? I have no clue though, don't plan on getting in an accident lol

After watching Sasha build the kit, and hearing how many of the 350 guys install themselves I would cut out the install and do it myself. You should see the install manuals he sends out, they are works of art themselves.

OHHHHHHHHH SNAP! It’s on now James….

Now as far as the install goes, I would encourage customers to do the install themselves. I would say the hardest part of the install would be the fuel pump…the rest is rather simple. The injectors are plug and play, with pigtails, so once the plenum is removed it is a 30 minute job to get the rails out, new injectors in and the fuel rails back in the car.

The exhaust part of the install is as involved as installing a set of test pipes, and uses the same amount of hardware (nuts/bolt/washers…ect). The down pipe is all V-bands and it really doesn’t get simpler than that.

There are only 3 pipes between the turbo and the intercooler, and those would be very hard to mess up. In the engine bay there are 4 pipes, and each end has a label on it indicating location. The entire IC system uses only 10 couplers, so it is very simple and straight forward.

Oil filter relocation and oil cooler are also straight forward, and again each line has a label at each end indicating location. So if you can read 4 word sentences you are good to go.

The scavenge pump/bracket will come pre-assembled so it will be a bolt on (two bolts and that’s it).

Wish i had the ability, or tools to do something like this on my own... or even the room in my driveway to do it haha

as a side question, just cause i have never done FI on a car that wasnt already stock from the factory with a turbo, what would be pointless bolt-ons to buy that FI would just require removing? Intakes, test pipes etc? I would rather not spend money on things that are just going to come off in a year lol

You can buy the F.I exhaust system and that is about it. Don't bother with test pipes, oil pan spacer, anything intake related and oil cooler (included in kit).

Not sure how much the OEM clutch can handle, and how much power you are after, but that may be a good investment.

Thanks for the information... If im going to do it, id like to be around the 400-500whp mark honestly. Very excited for you dyno results obviously for that reason once you get it tuned lol So yeah, i know im definately going to need a better clutch.

Yes, the crash bar was removed, but this intercooler will absorb as much if not more then the crash bar. The intercooler is nice and beefy
Definitely looking forward to hearing about it.

Have any of you guys ever heard of a Nissan dealership installing and tuning an aftermarket turbo? I took the Z (Zoe) in for an oil change talked to the service guy and we got on the subject of FI. And this is what he told me. But he did say it had to be where GTR were sold in my. Case it would be Lubbock TX. about an hour away.

I highly doubt any aftermarket hardware and software would be dealer supported....

^I've been told in the past by a few dealerships around my area in Atlanta that if you let them install any aftermarket parts, TT included, that they would cover the costs of any of the parts if damaged. Not sure if you keep the warranty or not... lol

For those that are interested in this kit....

I am sure that a lot of you are anticipating the dyno results and some videos soon, and I hope to have that up on Sunday evening after the dyno tuning has been completed.

Once all that is out of the way, and the kit does what it is supposed to (and it will ) I will start working on the jigs for the exhaust section of the kit. This is the time consuming part, so it will not just happen overnight. The car has been on the road for some time now with the base map, so the kit has some decent miles on it. Everything is working great, so it is just a matter of a proper tune at 9psi before I can put my stamp of approval for the next phase (kit sales).

Once the jigs are built for the exhaust side, I will build the first set of pipes. After this is done the car will come back and I will test fit the piping that comes off the jig. This ensures me that the piping is perfect, and that it will bolt up to all 370z’s just the same without any fitment issues. This is a critical step in the success of a kit.

The intercooler piping and all the brackets are rather easy to duplicate and I have jigs built for those already. The hard part will be the exhaust side.

I hope to tackle this project sometime in September as I have some vacation time coming up, and a few other things to get out of the way before I can really focus on this.

Will this kit work with the stock oil cooler on 2012 370zs? Sorry if this has been asked in this thread already...
