I wish that setup had a mid pipe back exhaust on it, wouldn't mind hearing it regardless.

Ill try and get a sound clip tonight for you guys, it will give me an excuse to start the car and listen to it again :D

Here are a few sound clips. It was a nice warm day here and the roads were dry so I have some incar video as well. I put the Iphone in the visor above my head and the windows were down. For the out of car one I sit it roughly level with the exhaust and off at about a 45 degree angle about a foot.
It is a tad bit louder than the audio makes it out to be, but overall the phone did a good job of capturing the sound. The inside car run was only at about 0-30 percent throttle and no higher than 5000 rpms as I am waiting for my tune from Vince to install the injectors. I was soooo tempted to push it further but held back, haha. I will say that at 30% throttle it was probably comparative to about 90% or so before the turbo. Whats amazing is that there is no check engine light or any engine running issues once-soever. https://hotfile.com/dl/178610555/5b2...e_Car.wav.html https://hotfile.com/dl/178610643/60b...artup.wav.html Enjoy. |

Im new to this myself. I been doing some research on this since you brought it up and some say its fine, others say its something to be concerned about. It sounds like the flutter is just from having a BOV spring with to high of a pressure. Again totally new to this.

Yes that's right, my STs kit did that at the start, then they broke in and haven't heard it since
|
Mitco - is that with the stock exhaust or did you change over to FI with the install?
|
Thats with the FI Non Resonated.

I can't hear the audio...the links want me to pay for it for some reason...Anyway, I will check the spring once the car is ready for tuning. It may be too stiff, and the waste gate is fluttering.
Will have to also drill and tap the IM so the BOV has it's own dedicated vacuum source. Since I did not have a base map on hand, the stock injectors were left in place and the IM did not have to be removed. So it was never drilled/tapped for the BOV vacuum source. I have had my kit on my own car for 4 years now, and there is a bit of flutter only on light acceleration between shifts. With 25,000 miles on the system there is no issue to date. The only thing that would be of concern is compressor surge while in boost. A softer spring could also be beneficial...but it is hard to say without knowing the exact vacuum at idle while the engine is warm. Either way, nothing to worry about. |
Figured as much, Thanks again.

Mitco39, I put the sound files up on DropBox for everyone. Hope thats ok.
