Boosted Performance single turbo build

Is there any other benefit to recirc besides just sound? does it help with spool or anything by keeping the air? if that is even correct on how it works

Open dumps will help with performance a bit in theory since the extra exhaust gas does not need to go through to the tail pipe. Less exhaust downstream from turbo means less pressure/resistance.

The three vids aren't a great comparison, but they are indicative. The 'quietest' exhaust has the camera 24" from the taiilpipe! LOL!

I've found VERY little performance loss with recirculation. In doing so you aren't looking over your shoulder, or annoying everyone, each time you want to step beyond half throttle.

I even went with recirculating the BOV. Quiet and stealthy across the board. YMMV.

Let the acceleration and exhaust note announce your authority, not from a dump.

Good builds here. Carry on.

I dyno'd before and after recirculating the WGs. Lost 8hp at the very top. Not noticeable and a very fair trade off. Loud does get old.

Having heard the BP on the dyno at WOT, I am very impressed with the even tone of the exhaust and also the overall volume/sound. Not at all 'boi-racr', more like controlled thunder... recircs are the key to a classy and powerful installation IMHO. James's car is a very stealthy turbo kit. Almost like it was a factory option....

I like noise.... but I want stealth...

Maybe a really loud BOV will tame my noise urge if I go recirc? or is it just because I miss my sti... that I even want a loud wooooosh:/

What to do, what to do.... recirc or no recirc?

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like this will be a recirc w/g kit.

Perhaps the select few that choose to go with open dumps will still get the down pipe with the recirc inlet, it will just be capped off. That way if it is too loud, or if if they get sick of it the recirc section can be sent out down the road and hoked up to the wastegates, then back to the capped port.

The Tial BOV's (that I use) are very quiet. If you want loud BOV noise, HKS is the way to go. However, these are a real PITA to install compared to the Tial. The snap ring can be a nightmare, and it holds the HKS BOV in place. If one wishes to use othe BOV's it is not a problem at all.

Any option to powdercoat the ic black for stealth appearence?

Also, any idea if the downpipe in this kit will mate to Nismo rear section?

PC can be done if requested.

I do not think the down pipe will bolt up to the Nismo exhaust.

Maybe a Nismo S-tune exhaust? ...since that one uses a Ypipe
But an OEM nismo (H pipe) won't for sure.

The downpipe in this kit will replace the h-pipe or the y-pipe for non nismo z's.

Downpipe would mate to the oem piping containing the resonators, then to the axleback.

Not sure if this has already been addressed but, are you planning to make available for the G37 coupe with 5AT/7AT?

At this time I do not have plans/time for this. The A/T cars have much less room to work with making it very difficult to build a kit like this. Perhaps down the road, if I have time and a donor car.

Right now the main focus is to get invetory built up, and get the twin scroll kit out to M/T cars, and there is a double digit line up at the moment.
