I have some info for you if you wish to get a better seal and better oil filter on the relocation head. I had the same fitment problem with the stock oil filter being too small. I even have a old GTM filter kit holder you can have, if you wish.

Lloyd, the oil filter gasket seats well and the entire oil filter seal is on the plate. This will be the standard relocation kit that comes with the turbo kit, so I don't wish to experiment with others.

PM'ing on the filter part number.

Mopac FTW..

To the rest of you...stop fighting, there will be plenty of turbo kits for everybody :happydance: It will just take a bit of time to get it all 100% ready and tested.

at this point, is the expected cost of materials/price of the kit what you were expecting it to be?

VQStryker 04-17-2012 09:01 AM

^^ turbo and IC will be the pricey parts so im sure it depends on what he does with that.

I do have a much better idea of the cost. The oil lines/fittings sure add to the cost, as does the entire oil filter relocation kit. Two waste gates and two BOV's don't help much either....nothing is cheap with this kit.

I am trying to keep the complete kit with fuel injectors (750cc), Uprev tuner..and all the other stuff that goes with the kit at around $6,900.

Considering the quality, how complete the kit is, and ease of install that is a great price. Even if you take it to a shop for an install it won't be nearly as much as a TT kit for example, yet it will be just as capable. With the Stage I (62mm turbo) this is a 600whp out of the box bolt on system with no need to upgrade any of the components that come with the kit.

Wow! At that price point I see you being a very busy guy!

I love watching your progress. Very nice!

Haha, too late, I am already a very busy guy.

To be honest I have not even looked at the FI options and the prices. Justo now looking at the TT kits, and they are in the $7600.00+ range, and the S/C kits are a bit less, but IMO do not compare to this turbo kit. Not sure what STS goes for, but again, I don't see a comparison between the two kits at all. The only thing in common is that they are both single turbo...that is where it all ends.

I REFUSE TO PAY LESS THEN 8K FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS AND AMAZING QUALITY! lol I will definitely be pickin one of these up from you if all goes well!

I'm sure this has been asked in your thread before but how reliable do you expect your kit to be on a stock motor?

jk. His kits have been running for a while on the 350Z's with stock internals, no issues...

Just set it up to run rally no more then 500-550 at the wheels you should be good, when i get this im going to tune it and set it for 450 to be safe and once it is built then go for bigger numbers.

My STs kit was 7 grand shipped with 3 gauges / modules, customs and shipping included which was like 800 bucks :o

The kit itself will be very reliable. I have customers that make 7 hour round tips a couple of times a month, and have been doing this for almost two years. Not a single issue. Once the kit is installed properly and tuned by a competent tuner, there is nothing to worry about.

I also have customers that autocross with the mid mount kit, again, no issues at all. One customer went from a twin turbo Jim Wolf kit to a mid mount, and he prefers it over the JW TT kit at the track. They key to that is a continuous duty scavenge pump motor, with a pump that is rated to pump 350deg F fluid all day. As I have said before, IMO it is the most important part of a low/mid mount turbo kit.

You can read up on it here: http://turbowerx.com/Scavenge_Pumps/.../Exa-Pump.html

Quote:

350F Fluid Temperature. No other pump comes close. All the materials used in the engineering of this pump were chosen to support extreme duty at extreme temperatures - constantly.
I have these in stock at all times as well, so if anybody needs one...just let me know.

Good to hear man! I will likely be interested in this next summer from you. Since I live in edmonton is it possible to have you install it as well? Do you have a tuner you trust to tune the car with this kit?

Cheers

Also. that is a beast of a pump I agree

^ watch the thread in the Zedmonton Lounge for updates in that area....
