Lol. Good read. Needed the laugh. Interesting the mods haven't "cleaned" up this thread yet.

Haha, this is "cleaned" should have seen it last year. It was like a meteor heading for earth.

Torque kills stock motors not hp IMO

So tuning has to be good to keep a stock motor running for a long time with a lot of torque
Else your one hard pull to boom

chii370 05-16-2013 08:28 AM

Whats the weak spot in the VQ? The piston connecting rods? I thought the VQ was pretty rock solid until you start pushing its RPM limit a bit. Would imagine the boys at nissan set it at 7500 for a reason "nismo" ;p

Chuck33079 05-16-2013 08:38 AM

I've been told the rods are the first thing to go. The oil pump gear has reportedly been the first point of failure if you raise the redline too far.

ROFL, Classic... Had to wait to get back to my room to see the pic. Then to see Xzibit's *** pasted in the window LOL.

There were some minor delays for the past six weeks that slowed things down. Basically a previous shop had my O2 sensors wired wrong, the upstream senor in the LTH J tube, and the downstream O2 sensor in the freestream tube just after the merge collector. I have the pics in my journal, but don't want to post it in here as it really doesn't have to do with the kit it's self. Also found out CSF radiator won't work with this kit, Z1 hoses don't work as it has it's own, my AE performance oil cooler is too big, and won't work either...

Soooo.... I replaced it with GTM's 70mm radiator, SPAL fan and shroud, twin 25 row oil coolers, their new baffled oil pan, and had them take care of the sensors issues. Good news is the ECU isn't fried and only needed two new sensors. Posted a small thread on that issue too. Bad news? My wallet is feeling the pain of the upgrades. So with the help of GTM, I have a for sale thread going to help clear out everything that didn't fit and to recoup some lost money to fund this project. Hopefully it wraps up in the next month or so and GTM posts a thread on the project.

Glad to hear the ECU was not friend, sucks on a lot of parts not fitting but people will jump on your for sale thread.

Call them. Then be patient. If you aren't the patient type, I might recommend another route.

Waited 8 weeks after been promised will be ready in 4 weeks, finally managed to get my money back from PayPal as GTM didn't have any funds available on two occasions.

Don't bother, unless you're prepared to wait YEARS, if they're still in business by then, and if you ready to hear millions of lies.

Most unreliable manufacturer in the zed auto world!

Still have money ready for the kit, very unlikely to happen...

octet 03-29-2014 01:30 PM

Oh, and by the way SS_Firehawk, when you're selling your TSC kit, don't bother advertising it, just PM me, I'll pay you straight away. :D

Let's talk business, PM me :P

I had the same negative experience lately although having successfully ordered from Sam in the past. The ordered s/c kit wasn't ready on two promised dates + a week or two extra and then it took SEVERAL nerve-stretching WEEKs to get my money back. I was about to hire some professional repo agent, that's how far it stretched. A pity, but will not do business with Sam again.

COSMO 03-31-2014 07:38 AM

Glad to hear you got your money back..:tiphat:
