Updates? :D

Nixlimited 04-03-2012 10:57 AM

It is April now, haha! I just pray this doesn't turn into another White Dragon thread.

What do you mean? Sam installed mine a week ago, no issues, power to spare!

Absolutely sick guys...was just about to pull the trigger on your single SC stage 2 kit. hmmm...I'm in line...when they roll out?

Mike@GTM 04-03-2012 05:24 PM

The first R&D car just arrived at our shop the middle of last week. As some of you may or may not know, R&D takes time. It's all good and well to have a great idea. It's quite a bit more work to do a one-off job. It's a whole other ball of wax to develop a kit for production. Every nut and bolt must be accounted for and most importantly, every component must be designed to be manufactured with repeatable tolerances for a reasonable cost. Not to mention have everything work as planned.

So, sit back, relax, have a cold one and stay tuned for more development.

Thanks for the update Mike :) I gotta wait till tax time before I do anything anyway but this is just nuts project and is definitely something unique! will definitely have some cold ones for you as well! must be lots of little headaches to get a major kit like this together!

While that is true, someone had already beaten you to it...they just took a while to get the car here.

PM replied.

Don't get me wrong, I love the younger Twins!

But their older brother, Single, will do just fine! :)

Today marks the install.

Can someone tell me why I can't have high flow cars whit my stillen supercharger??

Because their tune is too rich and will eventually clog the cats with unburnt fuel.

GTM fellas, how's the R&D progressing? :)

It's coming along nicely. We've got a lot of the prototype parts done and verified. We should have most of the production brackets in hand by early next week. We'll update this thread with more info and pictures once we have those parts in hand.

chii370 05-23-2012 01:45 PM

100% interested in purchase. i have a open thread on my current preparation of a S3 TT build, but if this puts my required 600 WHEEL horse power without maxing out the kit with decent longevity "as good as the turbos" i will buy this in a heartbeat. sign me up, i will buy the first kit no joke. i have the cash, your move GTM ;P

chii370 05-23-2012 01:50 PM

please GTM gods..... make it fit a nismo. if not i renounce my faith!

Mike@GTM 05-24-2012 03:34 PM

Of course we'll make sure that it fits a Nismo. ;) Like they say, when there's a will, there's a way...and we've got the will.

Please don't forget about us on LHD too,
AFAIK, one mate here in Australia had massive problems putting a TT kit that supposedly was LHD-able.

Also, please share a video with the sound the kit makes,
it must be awesome!!!

Thanks for such dedication to the sport!

Did you mean RHD?

The only issue I know of was a shop in Australia that told their customer that our kit required "massive" modification to fit and charged him accordingly. Once we saw the pictures they posted, however, we noticed that they didn't modify any of our piping whatsoever. I hate to derail this thread, but we have pictures that you can compare side by side of their install of our kit and kits we've installed in house. Here are just a few:

Here are the pictures of a RHD car fitted with our RHD Twin Turbo kit:

http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...RHD370TT06.jpg

Here are some pictures of cars we've done in-house with our Twin Turbo Kit:

http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...D/P1110036.jpg

http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...D/P1110255.jpg

Please show me the "massive" modification that was needed.

Sorry mate, but your second hand information does not make for a credible accusation.

Every other RHD kit we've shipped to any other country in the world (including other Austrailian customers) have never reported having to do "massive" modifications. In fact, they've all fit flawlessly.

/off topic

That all said, we have clients around the world and always endeavor to have offerings for them as well.

No vids yet...we're not quite there yet. lol

370Z Purist 05-24-2012 11:02 PM

TSC... now I await the twinchargers... SC + turbo... or go mad and do a SC + TT... what an amazing oddity. typical engineering concept: why not?

Nissan370 05-25-2012 05:25 AM

I am sold going to be great to see what this kit does on a built motor. Looks like I will be pulling the stillen kit off once this kit is rdy. If nothing else having twin superchgers under the hood would be rare as hell can we start putting money down on this kit or what I'm rdy

No worries mate, I didn't meant to accuse you, I'm not even sure that said kit was yours or of another brand, but you know, fitting it's something that might worry any UK/AUS/JAP customers.

at any point, if you make the twin SC work regardless of hand drive position I'll be happy to be your customer.

Cheers
Hope that the video comes soon!!!

i know the person that your speaking of, i think it was back when GTM first released the and didnt do a RHD option but he bought it anyway. and when he got it installed they screwed up some part of the install making it differcult. i cant remeber exactly what happened as it was a very long time ago but it wasnt GTM's fault it was the installers not knowing what they were doing.

Srenity 05-31-2012 06:22 PM

Status?

Kaiser370z 06-01-2012 11:16 AM

i Just see this thread today
very interesting
any updates so far ??

ghostbusters 06-02-2012 12:06 PM

I am quite clueless on the engineering/mechanical bits, but am I wrong in assuming that if one SC has a parasitic loss of say 50hp, wouldn't a twin supercharged system have a parasitic loss of 100hp? So, would it be therefore be "better" to have an SC & Turbo set-up, SC for low end and on-demand power & Turbo for the high power figures?

Either way, I am still very keen to see the finished product! :D

SAM@GTM 06-06-2012 02:38 AM

Final production components pics, We have those parts already on our test car and we are hopping to fire up the car anyday now, will have some more pics of the actual install in the next day or so
