We here at GTM are thoroughly excited to share the results of the Stage 1 Supercharger Upgrade kit. We tirelessly push the envelope and we're never satisfied!

For those of you not familiar with this upgrade kit, it effectively uses the intake system and supercharger compressor housing of our Stage 2 Supercharger kit to help the Stage 1 Supercharger breathe better. And oh, does it ever breathe!

Below is the list of all the parts that comes in this upgrade :

Depending on Pulley size, We recommend the following :

Bosch EV14 650cc injector upgrade
GTM Fuel Pump Voltage Stabilizer kit
Custom Dyno Tuning

With these breathing parts added to the C38-81 supercharger in our Stage 1 kit, we were able to squeeze every last drop of horsepower out of that blower. More, in fact, than anyone gave this blower credit for.

Below is the dyno graph. The BLUE lines are a bone stock 2011 Nismo 370Z.

The RED lines are the same car with our Stage 1 S/C and upgrade kit, 10psi of boost, test pipes, and HKS Cat-back Exhaust on 91 octane pump gas.

The GREEN Lines are the same mods except a smaller pulley, 11psi of boost on 93 octane gas.


For people that don't have our Supercharger yet and want this kind of performance out of the box, we'll be offering a Stage 1.5 Supercharger Kit so you can have great performance with a good price point.

Thank you! I'm happy we were able to pull this off and really show just how impressive the Rotrex units really are. Of all the supercharger units we've ever worked with, Rotrex makes the best ones, hands down. I'm really surprised that they have such low market penetration here in the US. It seems people in general are very resistant to progress and technological advances. Too bad, really...they're missing out. lol

Hey Mike and Sam, since you guys are pioneering SC kits for us... i was wondering if you guys have thought off adding some kind of CVT on the rotrex unit to control/maximize boost...

Back when I first learned of CVT's, a supercharger was my first thought for an off the wall, awesome application.

Unfortunately, CVT's are expensive. They're also not super lightweight either. Controlling one is also complicated. Complication adds more cost (as well as more things to go wrong).

Therefore, adding a CVT system to a supercharger is going to be heavy, expensive, complex and while it will give you a broader powerband, the cost/benefit ratio doesn't pencil out.

All that said, however, Rotrex is working with another company to develop a compact solution to do exactly what you and I both want. The key difference between what they're doing and simply adding CVT, is that the variable drive ratio will be integrated into the supercharger unit itself. By fully integrating that inside the casing, it will be light, efficient, compact, and more cost-effective. Don't hold your breath though, the R&D on that has been going on for two years now, and there hasn't been a word on any progress. It may end up that it the cost/benefit ratio isn't worth following through though.

There are already several companies that have done this with superchargers, but I believe they are for more industrial applications. I have thought about this quite a bit and like you mention, a major issue is efficiency in packaging.

i've heard of rotrex doing a joint venture with torotrak to figure this piece out before... actually the youtube videos of the concept they are working on, makes me wonder if you have more information on their progress... because it looks like to me that the design for the GTM stage 1.5/2 SC kit is perfect for upgrading the sc to whatever rotrex SC unit with the built in variable drive they come up with... in any case... pretty exciting stuff...

On the Website it's about $1300 for the upgrade with one engine mount and about $1500 with both mounts. Not too bad IMO, might be ordering this in the coming months...
