Depends on the size of the charge piping that they are housed in. The MAF sensors in 2.75" charge piping will do about 600whp (DJ). If you go with 3" charge piping that number will go up.

bullitt5897 02-17-2012 04:17 PM

We didn't change the mafs until we went above 1000hp

Absolutely correct. One thing I'd like to add is that superchargers do eat up some of the power, so the apparent power threshold will be less. That's why we went to 3" charge piping on our Stage 2 Supercharger Kit.

Any progress on that stage 1.5 SC modification?

We're almost ready to do preliminary testing. :D

I don't understand how this is possible if the above is true? Did you use 4" charge piping?

roplusbee 02-18-2012 08:47 PM

Interesting..............

Pretty sure you guys used UPREV GT Maf's on your car. This is the link that Sam posted to the set up

Two main factors, Maf location and pipe diameter, With our blow through set up and our 3" piping you will be at 4.8 to 4.9 volts in the 600 WHP mark. this have been very consistent due to our Maf locations.

Now if you have the stillen draw through set up then your mafs will max out much sooner, I have seen them max out at low 400WHP .

No They are not the GT mafs's Calibration from UPREV, as i have said that before in that same thread. Our calibration has much bigger sealing.

There is one source for those after market maf sensors, These are the same sensors that UPrev, AAM, AMS uses, We are just applying our own Calibration on them .

Been on the dyno all today working on new set maps for the upgraded compressor housing on our GTM stage one. I'm still working on the 91 gas maps right now.

The results are very good as expected, let me just say we are making over 450WHP on the stage one with flat torque curve all the way to red line .

Sam

Thats what I like to hear

How does the area under the curve compare to the stage 2? I really only want 450 WHP, but the responsiveness and torque curve of the stage 1 SC is very attractive. That's the one I test-drove and really liked it.

And like I said, let me know if you need another test car :-)

I was more so saying that they are not stock.

So to be clear you have that company make you custom MAf's to your specs? They way you worded it before you were saying that they are the same sensors...

I'm one of those people with the Stillen SC maxing out the stock MAFs, at about 7000 RPM and, as Sam said, low 400WHP I was pegging them out. I went to the GTM MAFs and they solved all of my issues.

I'm happy to clarify it for you.

Our Upgraded MAF Sensors are custom made to our specifications.

They are NOT UpRev GT MAF sensors.

I hope that helps.

Vince@R/T 02-20-2012 08:32 PM

Clarification always helps...

Sam do you guys offer Maf upgrades since I am using the stillen kit
And is it plug and play

Are you running any upgrades on your Stillen kit? The kit stock will be fine with stock MAFs.

Nissan370 02-22-2012 08:49 AM

i have 9lb pulley(but seeing 10.5 lb up top) and i am adding water/meth even as we speak but i am also making more the 430whp

just want to know if i go for the 928 impeller and a 10-11lb pulley will i max out the stock maf

i am even going over some ideas with my tuner to convert the stillen kit to a blow-throught and move the maf closer to the tb you get a much better reading from the maf sensors that way

Vince@R/T 02-22-2012 09:02 AM

Yea, at 9 lbs your will be at the limits of the MAF. A 928 impeller and more boost will def max out the MAF on the Stillen set up. Two upgraded MAFs will be a little over kill so you should see what you can do with making the diameter of the piping larger...

Neo187H 02-22-2012 09:53 AM

It's not as easy as saying what HP levels you're going to max it out considering every dyno reads differently but yeah with those upgrades you will def. be maxing out the stock MAFs.

What are you doing for your fuel system? Have you upgraded that at all?

Edit: Should have been more clear, I mean over what Stillen supplies you with.

Baer383 06-24-2012 07:43 PM

I'm bring the thread back from the dead b/c after checking my data logs on my MAF volts they are maxed out @5.03 volts now my car pulls hard but high RPM it doesn't quite pull as hard as it has in the past.

And by the way I'm @471rwhp and on meth it is 496rwhp well below the 600rwhp people have stated the stock MAF are good for.(I have a GTM Stage 1.5 SC 11psi)

On the Cipher bank 1 and bank 2 are very consistent until the volts start going up high, then bank 1 is very erratic and it my be bad(I haven't got that far).(also been throwing code P0106)

Anybody has any comments or advise chime in as I'm doing my homework now.
