Just hoping that when I get it to MKC, that I can finally post some number to be proud of for the 7AT STS. We shall see. I just felt a lot more comfortable with Chad and his knowledge of imports. He seemed to know it was running fat and had an exhaust leak without even looking under the car or doing a wideband when we did the dyno run. The next 4 weeks is gonna suck.:shakes head:

edub370 03-26-2012 08:44 AM

Ya he is a very smart dude when it comes to tuning for fi. then again, i think most people would be if they had a civic pushing a 9 flat 1/4 mile haha

You can either goto STS webpage and look under local vendors or send STS a pm and I'm sure marc will help you. Also pm Jamaica@UAMmotorsports.

Thank you i did find the page and i talked to Kevin over at Speed Mafia Performance and he was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. He said the cost of the kit is $5995.00 and since its March Madness it includes free shipping, and all new customers or individuals in the military (i am over at the airforce acadamy) get 5% discount on all STS Turbos kits.

I asked for a price to turbo it he said right around $695.00 for install. Does that sounds like a resonable cost for install and tune the dyno machine?

So if i am doing the math right i should be right around $6400.00? whats your guys thoughts... or am i paying to much?

Thanks -Trish

elperuano 03-27-2012 08:46 PM

That sounds cheap. Good price. You have to keep in mind supporting mods. Gauges, cooler are the main ones. Then clutch, it u have an AT that requires more supporting mods.. But the price for the turbo kit itself is good n the install is cheap but I'm guessing cuz its rear mount n more easier to install as opposed to puttin it in the engine bay.

edub370 03-27-2012 09:05 PM

that seems like a really low install price. but if thats for real then jump all over it

That is incredibly cheap price. Install and dyno seems a little to cheap to believe though. Also is your car a manual or automatic? I would also ask about the tune. Is it a base "canned tune" or is it a custom. Also I would pick up a oil cooler. This will help your car out in almost every aspect of driving a FI car from helping save the life of the turbo and your engine. Trust me do your homework on the shop. Make sure they don't have a ton of negative feedback . There are to many people taking advantage of "noobs". I was burnt by my installer because I rushed into getting my system. 6 months of problems and almost double in price from what you are going to pay. I'm not trying to scare you away just letting you know to be watchful of a "good deal". If you have any concerns call STS @ 801-224-3477. Go to the dial by name section and dial in Marc. This is the vp of research and development. Marc is a great guy like all of them over there. Good luck and I will continue to answer anything I can.:tiphat:

Oh and one last thing. Buy a system you want. Not what some tells you is superior. Remember this will turn into a big investment and you have to live with your choice, not the dealers. Take your time and choose a system that fits your needs and pocket book

Jamaica 03-27-2012 10:04 PM

March specials for his kit. Free shipping and discounts we have the best pricing On the kits.

Great to know and thank you very much. I did talk to the guys over at STS and had allot of information and the guys over at Speed Mafia Performance they had many vehicles with STS kits they were working on and I think what makes it attractive to me is the simplicity and knowing it can be put back to stock fairly simply.

You guys are great and thanks for the fast response.
here is the link they sent me for the sounds of the kit which i love.. STS Turbo Nissan 370Z - YouTube

Also Speed Mafia, did say i will need a wideband, guage pillar pod and boost gauge... catch can they included in my costs. :)

We currently have the best price on the market 5400 shipped.

edub370 03-29-2012 03:35 PM

No problem and yes they are a dealer for STS. A very good vendor to buy from on this forum. You can trust me on that. I have bought from them before, not the kit but I wish I would of, and blackandorange bought his from them. Good luck with your build and let us know how it works out for you.:tiphat:

I know...I'm about $14,000 in on my modding. Now just to win the mega millions $500million and I'll be set.:happydance:
Check out UAM amuse repilca in the body section. Great deal and makes the car sexy as hell. I just bought it myself and only waiting for the time and more money to have it installed.

chris410 05-14-2012 10:33 AM

Can anyone answer the following please!?

1. How hard is it to reach the fuel pump?
2. Are the injectors relatively easy to install?
3. For you folks running FI on the auto tranny, will it hold 400RWHP? Any issues to be aware of?
4. Is a tranny cooler required?
5. Are there any tuners who have experience with the UpRev in the VA/MD/PA area?

I am planning on doing the install myself (I have previously built several other turbo cars) however, I am new to the Z's motor so I am trying to gauge how difficult the injector/fuel pump installation will be.

Thanks in advance!

blackonorange 05-14-2012 11:53 AM

1. Super easy there's a access door behind the passenger seat
2 just as easy as another sports car that my mechanic has worked on, he says if Uve done it once it's simple
3. I can't say for sure since I'm 6mt but this kit can deliver alot of torque in the mid range but I'm sure if your smart with the throttle it would be fine
4.Again I'm 6 mt but im sure wouldn't hurt by putting one in

Vince at R/T Tuning is in PA, I hear very good things.

Chinook 06-01-2012 09:15 AM

I installed an electronic boost controller last night, and what a difference being able to adjust the wastegate crack pressure! It was such an enjoyable drive to work this morning that I just had to thank both Jamaica at UA and Sts once again, I love this kit, sounds amazing and performs just as well.:tiphat:

ZeN 06-01-2012 07:56 PM

Chinook...do you have your dyno chart?, at what rpm the boost kick in

Chinook 06-02-2012 08:53 PM

I will be getting a tune done in 3 weeks when sebz from specialty z comes to town to tune for a local z club. I will let you know when it is done

Shineauto 06-03-2012 08:56 PM

Very amazing build thread.

Chinook, what happened with the other tuner?

Chinook 06-04-2012 12:50 PM

They were having some difficulty with schedules getting both the dyno and tuner available at the same time and a local Z car club was having SEBZ from specialty Z coming down already had the dyno booked and with the 370 guys we had, we were able to change flights and get an extra day out of them and dyno was available for the extra day. Sounds like they will be tuning the boosted performance kit, a Stillen kit and maybe 2 Sts kits including mine, as well when they are here.

blackonorange 06-04-2012 01:29 PM

Chinook u said u noticed a difference after installing the boost controller even tho u didn't turn up the boost?

Chinook 06-04-2012 01:53 PM

Waste gate crack pressure it seems to spool earlier and quicker and I think sounds better unless it's in my head. Are you coming for the dyno days?
