erkthejerk73 02-14-2012 01:24 PM

they throw it away or something?

tower74 02-14-2012 11:05 PM

Don't know yet. Then roads have been crappy and full of salt. I've got a meeting tomorrow with Tmobile and I'll be out by their shop. Let's hope they didn't. Otherwise they owe me $300.

tower74 02-15-2012 05:10 PM

Cable in hand!!! Now just need to call STS and see what kinda damage I can do!

erkthejerk73 02-15-2012 05:15 PM

nice man! you could do some data logging now and send it to uprev for a better tune

tower74 02-16-2012 10:16 PM

Well got the new tune today from Marc @ STS. Drove it and can tell the diffrence in shifting. Seems more responsive :driving:. Still think the hot start issue is still there, though. It will all be worked out, so I'm not really worried. I knew there would be issues being the first STS 7AT and I'm cool with that.

I will say if anyone is wondering about customer service from them, don't. He was busy as hell today but still took the time to call my installer, get the final tune, set up a new tune, email the tune, and help me install it (which after doing it I felt like a boob:icon14:). A+ on their dedication to their product and standing behind it.

Good to hear you are getting your tune sorted out, and that the car feels more responsive. I am so jelous that you are able to drive it right now I have to wait untill spring. I had the same issue with what I thought to be a hot start issue and when I had my car dyno tuned the tuner had told me that it is to be expected with blow off valves that you may have to give a shot of gas when starting the car. I do not know if there is any truth to that as this is the first car I have driven with a turbo and bov's. I totally agree with the customer service part of things, I never expected near the support I have received from Marc and Rick!

that makes no sense.... i have a turbo car that i have put bov's on, taken them off, tuned, and modded in every which way, and blow of valves have nothing to do with starting the car. the only reason a bov can possibly make a car die is if the BOV is venting atmosphericly and your car is expecting that air that was just vented to be in the IC piping when the butterfly opens back up and its not. therefor your car is somewhat starved for air at that moment. this creates a temporary rich condition which can cause your car to stumble either between shifts or when going back to idle. BOV's play no part in the car starting tho.

Well it appears that the uprev issue is gone. There was no uprev between 3rd and 4th gear. So problem seems to solved on that issue.

darionlear 02-17-2012 08:05 AM

Hmm... *like*

what does this mean?

SharpByCoop 02-17-2012 08:34 AM

He meant 'RPM flare'. Nothing to do with the Uprev company.

You are correct sir. When the car had been sitting over night or when the car was cold, it would give me a uprev...almost like the tranny was slipping. At the same time I'm not the only one that has seen this problem with the 7AT.

tower74 02-19-2012 02:25 PM

The "rpm flare" is gone thanks to Marc @ STS. Still working on the hot start issue but I'm sure that will be fixed as well.

Mind sharing what he did?

Most tuners arent ready to handle tuning FI and 7AT apparently.

I seem to be getting more HP with every tune sent:excited::driving:. March 3 can't come soon enough....wanting to see if we are closer to the number I want to see.

xgrudgex 02-20-2012 06:38 PM

Great to hear everything is getting better for you!

Couldn't ask for a better group of guys to work with. I know they are getting something out of it as well but I'm also doing the same. So it's a win win for the both of us.

By the way your pic is very disturbing. I can see why she looks so angry.

edub370 02-23-2012 11:01 AM

So dose the $7200 price for the complete kit with injectors and tuner also include an oil cooler?

Jamaica 02-23-2012 11:52 AM

Yes it does But there is better priicing

Ty sir! looks like this FI kit might be closer in my future than i thought :stirthepot:

we'll be in contact

gbrettin 02-23-2012 03:56 PM

Tower - I'm watching to see how everything goes with your 7AT because my car is exactly the same. Keep the information flowing. :)

Jamaica - Awesome to know that the kit is lower than 7,200!

^Wish I would found this forum back in March when I was buying the system.

We are currently trying out some new tunes and also doing some data logging. I'm hoping all these tunes etc will help keep the prices down for future STS owners. My hot start issue is almost gone...still there a bit not as noticable. I keep you all updated but like I said before ,these problems are minor.

On top of that they are more less tuning my car over the phone:tiphat: and I'm letting them know by ear. So it won't be perfect, yet, but it will be a hell of a lot closer.

We're getting closer and closer. Matter of time....Putting my kit on tomorrow and I have to move the AFR gauge wiring to were it belongs...after the turbo.

erkthejerk73 02-24-2012 08:28 AM

what other gauges do you have? got any pics?

tower74 02-24-2012 08:34 AM

I've got a simple boost gauge...damn the more I look at them the more I want to change them out.
The kit will be here any minute now and I will post some pics of my car when it's finished. I'm hoping this will only take a few hours....at the same time it could take even longer since I'm doing it myself. It it's as easy as swapping out a hood this should be quick.

tower74 03-03-2012 11:29 PM

Marc got a question for you...how much HP will be lost with an exhaust leak and have you guys ever had any of the splice pieces break and or fail?? Can see an obvious leak at the intake pipe under the car (first splice after the catalytic converter)..Call me please. Got a local tuner who will fix the tune and hp issues.

Dallaz 03-23-2012 01:56 PM

Sub'd. So much valuable info in this thread! Trying to decide on getting this kit or not.

CSA0890 03-23-2012 05:53 PM

is anyone running e85 with this kit?

tower74 03-23-2012 09:17 PM

No, just standard fuel. 93 when I can find it but mainly 91.

sboden 03-24-2012 08:17 AM

Did you get your car in yet?
