Stage 4 turbo and hood clearance
Guys I have an important question and I need your input. I plan on creating a super Z. Plans are to setup a stage 4 turbo and engine build. However currently I'm working with bay speed and fabricating a full carbon fiber kit for the car. I want to know with a stage 4 kit will the oem hood mold still work or will there be clearance issues. If it needs to be modified how so raised hood etc. Please guys this is an immediate thing bay speed and I want to make moves asap to develop great products so whatever info you guys have I'd appreciate it. I hope we can stay with the OEM hood but I'd hate to create a carbon fiber hood and then limit my turbo potential because it won't fit.

if u want a supercharger, then u may have to modify the hood. but for turbos, they sit low and on the side, so no hood modification necessary. and wtf is stage 4 LOL. i mean do u plan to build the car in stages? stage one turbo, stage 2 engine build, stage 3....high boost? stage 4...touch urself. **** i would if i had a boosted Z!! good luck with everything. cant wait for carbon fiber bits to come out

What your asking makes no sense... Please provide a better description of the setup you plan on using.

simplified...do you need any additional hood clearance if you run a large TT setup. I am asking because I am fabricating a carbon fiber hood and I want to make sure it fits when it's time for the turbo.

If you are doing a custom TT setup, that is completely up to you if you have to modify the hood or not. I have seen 350Z's done with top mount twin turbos, and bottom mount twin turbos. It's kind of your call!!

The idea is for a complete overhaul so that we can take performance to the max....in time. We definitely want to be turboed as soon as it comes back with the CF kit. Of course a large build like this will be done in stages. I wanted to make sure I could use the OEM mold since I'd hate to have a nice CF hood and not have it fit. Seems like the general consensus is that it will fit because turbos are mounted low, which is what I thought but never a bad idea to have a second opinion. In reference to the "stage 4" setup, the final goal is approx 700-800 horsepower. Yes we are aware it will be a $$$ commitment and my friend and I are willing to see it to the end. I hope to keep you guys up to date as the Z project progresses. I've always been about American cars but the 370z has happily changed my preferences. Right now I'll be waiting a few months for the wet carbon body kit to be fabricated.

Hey guys, Jet Black Motorsports calls it their stage 4 turbo, that's what I referred to it as.
