Ditto... I spent enough money to get a cheap used GT-R or a bunch of nicer faster cars, but I'm not too crazy about anything else out there.

It definitely hungers for more power... hopefully in a few more weeks. :)

Ron 01-25-2012 11:16 AM

Hey Rob, so you spent more than I did yet I'm gonna be faster? :stirthepot:

tower74 01-25-2012 11:22 AM

I'm hoping to stop at 18k but who knows that's only 2k away. Damn expensive hobby.

Ron 01-25-2012 11:36 AM

ouch 18k for STS.. kinda defeats the purpose of going with them in the first place :( .. IMO

erkthejerk73 01-25-2012 12:04 PM

how have you spent 16k on an sts kit so far?

Footloose301 01-25-2012 12:25 PM

He must have missed the memo that said you didn't need two turbos if they're rear mounted.

Well the Greddy is priced a little higher than the GTM when you include everything to make it turnkey. I did go with Competition Clutch instead of OS Giken and some other custom stuff. I did round up a bit, but not by much. Hopefully I can keep up with you at the very least, lol........:ugh2:

Ron, VQStryker, and I have similar builds (although I went with Greddy). Am am sure that I hit 20k in parts/labor/tuning, but I had to be a little different and go with some "interesting" products......

Whatever you think your budget is, put that together and an OMFG WTF fund as well. My budget was actually 23k (came in under budget) and I have a dedicated CC with a nicely sized limit for the WTF fund.

Turbos..........what turbos :stirthepot:

:rofl2:

I was messing with ya lol. What custom stuff??

roplusbee 01-25-2012 02:26 PM

Gauge set-up, misc. electronics, Seibon VSII hood, and some duct work to direct hot air out of the engine bay. Still waiting on the hood though............and TDX:shakes head:

Ron 01-25-2012 02:28 PM

please elaborate on gauge setup and electronics, kthnxbye :icon17:

Dembflyr 01-25-2012 02:59 PM

Installing it myself saved me lotsa $$$$

I am only into mine for a little under $11k Only :D

roplusbee 01-25-2012 03:08 PM

LOL........Defi boost, AFR, and oil pressure in stock location. Oil temp, water temp, and EGT on A-Pillar. HKS boost controller and turbo timer installed in the cubby. Reworked Ipod/Android connections in the center console (removed the stupid tray). Nothing special, just didn't want to have stuff just flapping around in the car. That is why I said misc. electronics.

I really want to remove/move the power port under the dash, but haven't figured out where to install it. I have also been kicking around the idea of purchasing the CF interior pieces, but I have been focussing on performance oriented items and placement of electronics. I already have my audio components haging out in the garage. Just need a GT-R start button and I'm good. Also looking @ a set of Swifts (and maybe Koni's) but I can't afford to drop the car any, since Killeen and Baltimore roads are pretty horrible.

Cosmetics will be Seibon VSII hood, headlights and JDM tails modded by 180 Customs, and Stillen inspired bumper mod.

Let's put it this way....I bought the system in June of 2011. It took until August to get the system (had already handed over $10,000 before one thing had been done). Never dealt with the shop, hell never even heard of them.
I had left them my car for 6 weeks to install the system while I was out of town working. Got back in town and not one thing had been done except my dust level had increased on my car.
It took them another 2 weeks to install the system because I was calling every single day. I dropped almost $12,000 on the system without doing major research, big mistake on my part.:shakes head:
Don't get me wrong I love the system but being the first AT7 STS turbo wasn't worth all the headaches. I now have to spend more money to buy a remote oil filter because the intake pipe is blocking it...joy.
I know a lot more from reading all the complaints and knowledge from the members on this forum. Most guys will answer your questions with little bs or sh*t talking because you want to learn. These guys are more than willing to share the info and glad to help you out.
Read, read, read.....but most all research.

wow man, you handed over 10grand with zero research into the shop....

soooo ive got some beach front property in arizona id love to sell you...
