traction control is counter productive. we are talking about trying to get the car down the track as quickly as possible. cutting ignition and fuel to reduce HP is not the answer.
traction control is not going to save the axles from the shock of a launch either. you have to release the clutch before the tires can spin, if the axles break than traction control would have never had a chance to engage. anyone with a powerful RWD car has to make changes to accomodate the power if they would like to use it all in the lower gears. the Z car is no exception. guys running around slammed with goofy alignment on stretched tires over 19-20" wheels are not going to be the guys getting down the track quickly. ironically, this is mostly the same drivers complaining about traction with their FI car or saying the power isnt useable in this car. |

Traction control could be counter productive but in most peoples cases this would be a better solution than slicks.... look at it this way. If your going to lose traction with a given set of tires and 550rwhp... you can save money instead of dropping serious cash all the time on tires why not just invest in a system that will allow you to get the most amount of HP to the ground while maintaining traction... so if your tires can only hold 375rwhp in first gear and 450 in second and the full 550 in third then its going to allow your car to make that power and not spin the wheels which = fastest acceleration given the traction limits of the car. So in my eyes there are two options pay $$$ for slicks or pay a one time $2k for the racelogic traction control system you can run day in and day out and sell at anytime recouping some cost Mike

But that doesn't change the fact that you'll be going way slower in the 1/4 than you would if you had slicks.

we can argue thses points till we blue in the face. Put a tt 370 against any car of the same value and youll kick its *** in anything but the quarter mile. We all know the answers to all these questions its whos got the dough to fund these cars if they break. Traction control is a good mod for your average guy on street tires but going extreme quarter mile race cars have slicks and suspension. take cars right out off the showroom floor and the z wasnt meant for the quarter mile.

all traction control does is launch to the limit of the tire and suspension choice which is limited without a slick. a slick you can rev it to redline just about and let off the clutch and you have full power till you hit the breaks at the end. traction control almost feels like blue balls you think your about to unleash the power and it just cuts you off like its a smelly bitch.
