I've got a couple of rattles here are there that I need to find and fix. Also I had to go with open dumps bc the recirc pipes did not line. I wanna get them on somehow, it's a bit too loud for my taste now. Can't hear the turbos once those wastegates open lol.
Yeah, those damn pipes are gonna be the death of me. I have had the same problem with mine. Let me guess, driver side is no where close.

"all you have to do is tighten them from the top down".

If you look at the compressor maps for the new GTX2863r turbos no one should be expecting them to outperform the GT2860r turbos at low boost levels. Where the GTX series shines is > 15psi, these things flow MUCH more air up top and are sort of like the equivalent of a gt2860r down low and a gt2871r up top.

There is basically more potential for power at higher boost without sacrificing spool/low end torque on lower boost, so you get the best of both worlds.

Congrats again Ron, I would be curious to see the dynojet numbers only because I know how much mustangs fluctuate.

Couldn't have said it better, thanks Nick. I'll get it on a dynojet as soon as we get the little quirks figured out.

Internal WGs just can't flow enough air for built motor/high boost applications, and in my experience, EWGs with a good boost controller give you much finer control over the boost curve.

Internal WG flow just fine and Soon I'll show what they can do with a built VQ35DE. Plenty of power.

over 20+psi of boost, yes that is likely the case. I've personally run the gt28rs at 18psi on internal wg without any issues at all. With a built engine these cars will produce 650+whp at those levels.

If you are shooting for over that with much more boost, then it might make sense, however I cant imagine many people are looking to go upwards of that, and yet so many run externals. They cost more, and as Ron has noticed, are a pain in the *** to install in our car if you want to recirc. Don't mean to derail, just my .02

I have no issue with IWGs and I think at lower boost levels they are a good, cost-effective alternative, but when you start to push a ton of air through them they can become an issue since insufficient flow = boost creep = boom. And like I said, I still believe you can get more precise boost control with an EWG as compared to an IWG.

Notwithstanding, on a factory NA engine that isn't built with lower CR, an EWG is probably total overkill. On my old STi I ran between 28-30 PSI on a GT30R and an IWG absolutely wouldn't cut it.

With the right preload and a good boost controller you can get some real good results out of the IWG. No dough EWG are better as the HP goals and boost demand increases. Here is a dyno graph of a car we just finished, it has our VQ37VHR stage one long block, Stage 2 turbo kit with internal waist gates running 16 psi, as you can see it does very well .
