New/improved HKS EVC 6 boost controller

HKS celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the original Electronic Valve Controller (EVC) with an all-new EVC boost controller model. The original EVC released in 1987 was the first commercially available electronic boost controller, and revolutionized the aftermarket industry. HKS’ 20 years and six EVC generations of boost control knowledge has been harnessed into this all-new EVC.

The latest version the EVC 6 now comes with a Full Color TFT Monitor, smaller physical valve, faster processor and third boost setting. This new version can also be oriented in two different ways: buttons on the right (traditional) and buttons on the left.

The new HKS EVC has improved boost stability for maintaining pressure at high RPMs providing increased top-end power, and a new mapping feature allows boost pressure to be precisely tuned for throttle + RPM (or vehicle speed). The new EVC also offers a selectable kPa or PSI unit of measure, and a unique warning feature where if over boosting occurs, boost pressure can be programmed to drop to a user preset level. The new target boost setting and four button user interface makes setup and tuning intuitive and simple. The design of the new EVC features a sleek black case with a clear acrylic faceplate and a high contrast TFT LCD Full Color display offering a sophisticated look.

anyone have a diy for installing one of these things?

Cell 01-02-2014 10:14 PM

What questions do you have about it exactly?

The install is pretty straight forward if you do not tap into your speed/rpm/throttle wires.

That was my thread, maybe that would help.

Don't know if you have a touring, sport, or base. If you have base audio, refer to this if you want to feed speed signal to the EVC.

Edit: Forgot the link.

I had the EVC before this model, the FCON VPro and their AFK Knock Amp which was the best ecu tuning setup that I've ever had. The VPro has 4 maps and will go into limp mode if any parameters go out of whack. EVC is the most stable ebc that I've had. I also a had greddy profec b and a blitz icolor w/wideband. Easiest to set up too.

VPro is probably obsolete in today's cars but it was the absolute top of the line in its heyday
