Oh man, that is a habit I definitely have. Something about knowing I am not engaged in the wrong gear...

Overall the engine sound through the intake and exhaust is amazing for a Z car.

With the temps in the 50s lately I can spin the tires in 2nd from a roll around 4k and beyond. I haven't tried 3rd gear yet, but normally 2nd and 3rd grips well in warm weather. So the 305s aren't enough haha.
I absolutely love my car! It's not a DD so I can deal with "the small issues" that accompany a FIed car. A gasket here and there, fixing a rattle every now and then...etc. I just don't want to have major chronic issues that makes my decision regrettable.

It's also voiding your warranty and footing expensive repairs out of pocket; but that is the chance you take for that INTOXICATING HP, SHOCK and AWE when you blow past more expensive cars

I turned off my SRM, I hate it. Every time I pull up to a light and put it in Neutral and move my shifter left/right I look like I'm showing off. I turned it off and never looked back..

Awesome! With enough power, 3rd gear pull from 60 MPH is very fast and smooth! That's just ~6 PSI... I want MOAR!

Seriously though, I did a quick test with temps in the high 50s and wheel hopped in 2nd.

Ya I just stopped moving the shifter back and forth. In 13 years of driving manual trans and moving the shifter back and forth, never once did I find that I failed to take the car out of gear. SRM gave me a reason to get out of the habit. When it's out of gear it's out of gear, looking back on it... To be constantly jerking the shifter back and forth just to keep on checking that it's out of gear and keep doing it the entire time I'm coasting as if it may have fallen back into gear somehow... It looks awfully OCD to me now lol

Speaking of, how are the OEM VLSD's holding up to a TT setup? I have heard that if you work the OEM diff hard, the oils degrade in the center unit and it quits working. Yet I see a lot of people with SC/TT in their SIG and no diff swap.

I discovered that I had left it in gear ONCE. I was very tired. It's going to be a VERY hard habit to break.

Not that many guys with a SC/TT setup pushing their car to the limit. I would say there have been maybe 3-4 with a 370z who have pushed it. A lot of guys do some heavy street driving, canyon carving, but getting on the track is a whole different game with heat/limits.

I can't comment because I have never known anyone to have a failed diff in the z33/z34 world

My info came from a wikipedia article on the vlsd/miata mx5 and how the silicone in the diff broke down and the diff failed to work. The article stAted that by sixty thousand miles, this type of diff will be non functional. Obviously this is just hearsay and I wanted to ask someone who had btdt. Thanks! ( to re cap, it just does poorly, equally poorly, for the life of the car?)

Love my Stage 1 SC'd Z. It takes some getting used to driving the car with 400+ RWHP. The rear gets loose easily in gears 1-3. This is something that becomes more predictable as you drive it more and more. Does not really make the car a dragster though, the real fun against other cars is from a roll. The Z has a hard time using the extra power in first gear (lots of tire spin and blowing through redline) but after about 40 mph, the power is very usable and awesome. I pulled on a friends modded crotch rocket (180hp) at 60 mph and ran away from him to 155 mph (which is when I let off). He claims he's beaten a Z06 in the same scenario and could not believe the Z was so fast. The FI really brings the Z alive. It makes it a totally different car.
